Many years ago the Indianapolis Star send a Sunday magazine with their Sunday paper that was all about John Birch, a Baptist minister killed in Korea, and the rightwing society named after him. John Birch Society was founded in Indianapolis, not far from where I grew up.

Varvel is in our newspaper once a week. I complained to the editor about the scumbag and that Varvel is a total jackass Republican.

His work is so bad that sometimes you can't even understand what point he is trying to make.

I've had to ask several times that one of his toons be removed from the toon threads on DU. They were usually so poorly written that the poster thought he was attacking the right when it was really an inept attack on the left.

As for the comments, right wing trolls love to post to any crime story so they can blame the victim or spout their racist bullshit.

The star under the Pullium family was an open sore on the journalism profession, under Gannett it has become a festering abscess.

But this one surprised me...

It made me giggle a little bit. :D

The most recent truly awful toon was "The Joker". It is so offensive on so many levels that I will let you search it out instead of posting it.
