Saw this article in the Register and thought I'd pass it along. (I have little knowledge of the different DM neighborhoods, so I wasn't sure if this was a good or bad area.)
There have been no arrests made, according to the article. Let's keep our kiddos safe out there!

A Hoyt Middle School student told Des Moines police Monday night that she had escaped from would-be abductors.
The 14-year-old girl said she was walking home from a school function when a dark-blue car passed her about 7:10 p.m. near East 38th Court and Sheridan Avenue, then went around the block and returned. One occupant asked her whether she wanted a ride. She said she declined and continued walking.
Two men, who the girl said were in their late teens, got out of the car and approached her. They told her that it was too cold to walk and that they were going to give her a ride, police said.
The teen told police the man who had been driving slapped her face and began pulling her arms. She struggled with the men, she said, and kicked one of them very hard, possibly leaving a mark. She broke free and ran home.
