Protest plans?

Anyone know of any plans to protest the chimperor at kirkwood tomorrow?

I hope there are some people there.

Women for Peace Iowa will be meeting on Kirkwood Boulevard at around 11:15 between the Main Entrance and the South Entrance.

I know a few people who plan to protest right by the airport.

I'm still on probation from bush's last visit to CR, so I'll be at the college on my best protest behavior.

Women plead guilty in Bush protest

Cedar Rapids, Ia. - Three eastern Iowa woman arrested before a rally for President Bush earlier this month have pleaded guilty to interference with official acts. The women admitted during a hearing on Monday in Linn County court to crossing a security barricade at the U.S. Cellular Center on Oct. 15. They said they were challenging manufactured fear when they crossed the line of heavy machinery in front of the arena. "I interfered with fake fear," said Charlotte Martin, 41, of Cedar Rapids.

Martin, Maggie Swanson, 33, of Marion, and Mary Campbell, 56, of Bertram, were joined by dozen of supporters during the hearing before Judge Ross Houser. The women asked for a deferred judgment, which the judge granted. With a deferred judgment, at the conclusion of a year of probation, their criminal records will be wiped clean.

Interference with an official act is a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $100 or 30 days in jail. Houser did not order a fine or jail time. He ordered the women to pay court costs and perform 20 hours of community service.
