2. My choice isn't listed...
Undecided.

If I were forced to caucus today I would consider supporting Biden, Clinton, or to a lesser extent, Obama. I haven't made up my mind at this point, they each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

11. As a matter of full disclosure...
I should also say that although I am still not decided on a candidate, I am planning on assisting Clinton's campaign here in Marion...contacting the people I know, that sort of thing....which may seem a little strange but hey, the coordinator called me and asked for help and I am not committed to anyone else so...

I actually think that I am leaning more toward Clinton than Biden as of today. Put away your crucifixes and your holy water, I am still a good Democrat.

12. I don't think anyone here is gonna hurt you for supporting Clinton
All of us would rather have a Democrat as president than a republican - no matter who that Democrat is!

3. hard to choose among excellent candidates
I chose Edwards. I eliminated Gravel as a non-entity. The other two I have eliminated are Clnton and Biden. I would support either were they the nominee, would be happy with any of the rest.

4. Definitely Biden...
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 09:58 AM by youthere
with Obama as my second choice, and Edwards as my third. Doesn't really matter though...Edwards is going to win Iowa, but I'll fight hard for Biden just the same, and perhaps he can pull third.

17. Well I did once travel thru Iowa
Back in 1978 I studied for a while in Platteville, Wisconsin.

(Elementary School - 4th Grade)

My Dad took us on a road trip to South Dakota! B-)

So hopefully I understand the heartland! ;-)

Our childhood travels OBVIOUSLY make us qualified to understand foreign matters, just ask the Obama campaign.

Ha ha.

20. Hey you big ass, don't be so rude to our guests
Why don't you go explain to a certain candidate about how out of state college students participating in the caucuses is LEGAL and WITHIN THE RULES and how the whining of that campaign is making a presumption that the Caucuses can be manipulated...hmmm...which candidate did that last cycle and who did Tom Vilsack support then?

I hate having to defend candidates that I haven't signed on with, but I guess SOMEBODY has to defend Iowa x(

21. WhatEVER
I wasn't being mean, I was just jokin you big fun-hater!

And I am definitely not the guy to defend a candidate when they are wrong, and making the insinuation that Iowa college students from out of state aren't legally entitled to caucus is definitely not right.

While I DO think that the chance for abuse here is possible, (out of staters coming in, registering as "students" to caucus, with no intention of being residents) the possibility is there for any state and to single out one campaign in just one state is surely shitty campaigning as opposed to real concern of fraud.

22. I don't want this to turn into an argument because I think we very much agree
I disagree with the point about a potential for abuse. It is perjury to fill out and sign a voter registration card with false information and it states so on the forms. I don't know how many out of staters are going to want to face prosecution to 'stand' for a candidate. I think SOMEBODY is making a big stink and (instead of making the other candidate looke bad) they are making Iowa and our process look bad.

23. Biden today
If I were to vote today I would vote for Biden. With Edwards a very close second. My third would be all the rest at a small distance. I am 50 and have been an active voter since I cast my first vote for Jimmy Carter. In my adult life I don't think I can ever remember a field as strong as the one the Democrats have put forward in this cycle. From top to bottom I can support any of them.

24. Dodd
I have been thinking about this for quite a while (obsessing?) and Chris Dodd just seems like the right guy at this time. My second choice is likely either Richardson or Obama. We won't go wrong with any of our candidates, however.

25. Still Biden.
At first I was torn between him and Obama...Obama is still my second choice with all the rest distant thirds.

One positive thing that has come out of this is I have overcome my vehement hatred for Clinton-now it is only intese dislike. She's still not my top pick, and I won't caucus for her, but I think I could vote for her in the GE without wanting to stab myself.

He's my man. The man with the plan.

(That's not to imply others don't have a plan -- I just like his plan best; also, it rhymes.)
