Did he know he was speaking out loud? Steve King
KING WINS FAMILY RESEARCH COUNCIL'S "TRUE BLUE" AWARD

(Washington, D.C.) -- Iowa Congressman Steve King has been recognized as a "True Blue" Member of Congress by Focus on the Family Action for his unwavering commitment to the institution of family. The True Blue award honors members of Congress who have exhibited extraordinary leadership and commitment in the defense of life, family, faith, and freedom. In an interview with KMA's Kristan Gray, Congressman Steve King says we all need to be living by example all the time. King often talks to school groups and says he expresses to them it's essential that we speak up for what's right at every opportunity. King says if one kindergartener tells a lie it becomes a virus, but if another kindergartener speaks up it will stop it in it's tracks. King says it filters down from the president to the playground and you should always weigh in on what you believe in.

3. I think Iowa's districts are set up with a bi-partisan commision
Is that right Debi?
Even at that it doesn't take a great deal of brains to see that most of the population is in eastern Iowa. At @ 750,000 for each district it appears 4 & 5 will get merged with parts of others.
One night Mrs. Lib and I took a map and stretched 4 districts from east to west all the way across the state each having @ 750,000 (eg dist 1 from dubuque to Sioux City including W'lo/CF and Mason City and Fort Dodge. Dist 2 Davenport to CR then due west. Dist. 3 Muscatine => Iowa City => DM end. Dist 4 everything else. Would include Burlington, FM, Keokuk and CB.) Wouldn't that be fun?

5. Yep, bi-partisan commission draws the map - Legislature votes on it
and we'll be losing a representative after the next census so Iowa will only have four.

I like the idea of east to west districts but western Iowa may not (every candidate will concentrate on the more populated central part of the state east and the west will be ignored). But, hey, works for me (I won't have to drive the 300 miles from Sioux City to Dubuque!)
