22 dealerships in Iowa

Wow - Chrysler wants to close over 700 dealerships nationwide - including 22 in Iowa.

This includes dealerships in CR, Ames, Des Moines, Cedar Falls, Coralville, and Dubuque, among others.

I'm surprised about the Coralville dealership - economic hard times never seem to be as bad in the IC area, for some reason.

I told my dad he and mom may have bought their last Chrysler minivan from Finnin - which is where they bought all their minivans from for the past 15 years.

It seems a bit odd to me that Finnin would be axed while some of the smaller nearby dealers weren't on the list.

At least Finnin has his Ford dealer so he's not totally up s--t creek.

Methinks Wiele's may be in jeopardy in West Liberty. I sure hope not. I wonder if some of these places will stay in business as 'independent' dealers?

My last two truck are from Wiele's.

I know this whole thing is much bigger than one dealership, but I would be sick if Weile would close....

I suppose anything is possible.

I hope someone posts the GM dealerships that are lost in eastern Iowa....this whole thing makes me sick.
