Harkin at North Liberty Community Center 10:30 Saturday on Health Care
It is coming down to crunch time. Be sure to make your voice heard. You know that Republicans are doing anything and everything to stop health care. Pleas take an hour or two and come out.

1. Good luck to you all
I have another commitment on Saturday. It's called work. I am calling Senators Harkin and Grassley though.

3. I am currently on lay-off
And without health care. The company can take up to 30 days to notify the benefits center that I am laid off. Then, I can send a written request to the benefits center to apply for COBRA. So, even if I CAN afford Cobra, I'm still without insurance for at least a month. I'll probably be back to work by that time. It's really a screwed up system.

5. Sorry to hear about your lay off.
COBRA is a disaster. Twice we looked into it when "between jobs" and there is no way we could have afforded it. So we just went without ins for a couple years. We got lucky and nothing serious happened in that time. Actually, we got REALLY lucky because a few other health issues popped up later when we were insured.
