Iowa teabaggers held a convention? Stand back!
Looks like last Saturday while I was watching football no doubt, the teabaggers held a little get-together in Des Moines:
http://www.radioiowa.com/2009/11/07/iowa-tea-party-state-convention/
"The “tea party” movement in Iowa held its state convention this afternoon, with a much smaller crowd than the 3000 who turned out for the “Taxed Enough Already” rally outside the statehouse on April 15, 2009."
How much smaller? We never find out. Probably not held at Hy-Vee Hall though.

This guy interested me, so I looked him up:
"Drew Ivers is part of the “Campaign for Liberty,” one of the organizations that had a booth at today’s event.
“We just want less government, not more and, of course, we’re getting more every day and we’re saying, ‘Whoa, whoa. Let’s slam on the brakes. Don’t just veer off to the right in the fork of the road ahead. Let’s slam on the brakes, try to put it in reverse and go the other direction,’” Ivers says. “We need some minus growth in government.”

So what kind of a background does a teabagging leader have?

1. I've often wondered about Repub "smaller government" talk
They want to shut down abortion and even contraceptives. What can possibly be more big government intrusion into people's lives then to try to legislate in this arena. Their efforts never stop (Stupak).

4. "Ron Paul" - that says everything you need to know about the teabaggers
That kind of wacko thinking represents the "intellectual" side of it.

And then you have the birthers and Birchers.
