Energy Savings tips from the Iowa Energy Center
I thought this might interest some people, especially after the snow over the weekend and the cold temps that are expected next week.

http://www.energy.iastate.edu/news/Homeseries.html

The Iowa Energy Center just released the second book in the Home Series collection - Home Heating and Cooling. The booklets – filled with everyday energy-saving tips to help Iowans make a positive impact on family budgets – are available free of chage.

To get a free copy of the Home Series book one, Home Tightening, Insulation and Ventilation or book two, Home Heating and Cooling:

* Call your utility provider to see if you can stop by the office and pick up a copy;
* Download a PDF copy at the Iowa Energy Center Web site: www.energy.iastate.edu/homeseries/;
* Request a copy by e-mailing the Iowa Energy Center at iec@energy.iastate.edu; or
* Call the Iowa Energy Center at 515-294-8819 to ask for a copy by mail.

The Iowa Energy Center continues its dedication to supporting research and demonstration projects that have a practical impact on residential energy efficiency. In the months to come, look for three additional Home Series publications on heating and cooling, water heaters and major appliances.

1. Got that corn stove burning brightly
Haven't turned on the gas yet (xcept for on demand hot water). It is 73 in here and 15 outside right now!

2. My furnace didn't run all day Sunday (big picture windows)
and I've got it set at 62, so it way on this AM (it was also -7 outside).

Finally broke down and put the heated mattress pads on our beds - man those things are comfy!

We made it past Thanksgiving w/out getting our LP tank filled - trying to stretch it to Christmas now....cross your fingers!
