Nussle Quote
Got this from Gordon Fischer's blog--

Congressman Jim Nussle in 1998:

"My biggest fear is going to be going to the funeral of some young Iowa man or woman who dies in this conflict and having their mother or father come up to me and ask whether or not their son or daughter died for America, or died to save Bill Clinton's presidency. I don't know what I would say to those grieving parents. For that reason I believe the President must resign immediately."

Rep. Jim Nussle (R-IA), Congressional Record, H11963, 12-18-98.

Will there be a "tipping point" when people start talking about removing the Bush from office? Was there indeed a tipping point for Clinton's impeachment? (I was in 7th grade when it happened, so I don't recall)
I'm not necessarily advoacating this and it's probably not the best thing for Dems to be talking about...or is it?

1. I think the tipping point has passed
but the republican controlled congress will never impeach Georgie-boy. Besides I would not want any possibility of W being replaced by Sick Dick or Rasslin' Denny or Cat-kill Bill. Practically, I think the regressive agenda may be nuetralized until afyter the election. That plus putting these clowns on the burner for Iraq would be more than I could hope for given political realities.

2. It certainly is worth talking about

People are dying every damn day and we here in Iowa have given our share of good people toward this illegal war effort. As far as a "tipping point", I'm not real sure about that, as the public isn't really for that, largely in part because of the quick and possibly illegal impeachment of Clinton. Clinton kept his poll numbers in the high 50's and lower to mid 60's when he was going through all his stuff. Possibly because he was actually a President during all the crap. Nussle should be called out on his statements. We cannot let him get away with anything.

3. I'm wondering if Nussle has gone to any funerals.
He's had plenty of chances to do so, in the past few years.

As far as a "tipping point", here's an interesting website dealing with impeachment:
