DeLay vote
How did our Boys stand up? I've called and written Leach and have no response. Also, since it was a 'voice vote' is there any way to verify if they say they voted against DeLay? My trust of these guys is at an all-time low.

3. Stiil
How can I find how Mssrs. Leach, Nussle, King & Latham voted. The reason is that Leach is always flouting his 'integrity'. I believe he has integrity only when he is sure his vote won't count. When DeLay needs him for a close vote he is there for DeLay. Also, as I asked before, since it was a voice vote can we trust them if they say they voted against DeLay but there is no record to prove it? As I said I am very skeptical anymore, especially of Mr. Integrity, who couldn't even bring himself to use the label 'Republican' in his last run for congress.

10. Leach is ok
He represented us in the first district very well for many years. He did not always vote along straight republican party lines and believe it or not, is fairly independent minded. He is a fiscal conservative and a sort of social conservative, but not a raving fundie. I lost some respect when he chose to move to Iowa City rather than stay and fight for his district though. But overall, I wouldn't really mind if he still was a first district Representative.

2. Does the Democratic Party really exist?
We are all here waiting for our party leaders to erupt over the incredible behavior of the Repukes. And it just doesn't happen! What does it take?

6. Leach and Nussle(!) voted against according to the Gazette
Leach I'm not too surprised about, but Nussle!? He's ususally lockstep with the rest of the repugs.

7. That's good to hear.
I think that instead of leaning on the Dems, we should lean on the Pubs in office. Make sure that they know they are our representatives too.

9. I intend to spend
the next two years dogging Leach. I just can not believe the 'independent' label he gives himself. Cursory observation tells me that he's there for Ol' Tom when he's needed, indy when he knows his vote won't count. Made me mad in the election when he wouldn't even identify himself as a republican. I intend to write to him often.
BTW I found a site that had Latham, Leach & Nussle against DeLay, King for. The only reason I can think that Nussle voted against is that he realizes how bad a 'for' vate would have smelled two years from now when he runs for governor.
