Silly state convention question

Hi-
For the state convention, do most people arrive on Friday night? (I'm a first-time delegate this year).
We can only stay one night, and I don't know if Friday or Saturday would be better for hanging out with fellow dems. For those of you who are going, or have gone in the past, which night do you recommend?
Is anyone going to the Hall of Fame dinner?

1. Depends on how far away you live and if you have an interest in

the Hall of Fame dinner.

Some years we've gone up for the night Friday and hit the Hall of Fame dinner and receptions after and some years we've driven up the day of Convention (we're about an hour and 1/2 from Des Moines).

Friday night would be a good night for a DU gathering outside of the Hall of Fame dinner. People end up leaving on Saturday sometimes as early as right after lunch. Of course past conventions have been low-key enough to have an informal gathering anytime during the day Saturday. :shrug: Suggestions?

2. I'm going on Saturday...

...and returning Saturday evening, pending any good cheap (or free) parties.

I don't have the deep pockets to go to the HOF dinner.

5. Right now we don't have anyone to take care of our dogs or all those

damn kittens, so we'll got up and come home Saturday as well (which blows b/c I want to do some sort of a DU gathering :mad:) Anyone want to dog/cat sit Friday June 16th???
