Immigration is the dominant theme in the GOP primary. Dems have barely addressed the issue, focusing on health care, energy and ethics. Will Republicans' hawkish stance help their nominee turn out the base, or will it turn off independent voters?

With the Ohio write-in debacle now behind the Democrats, the party's new most troubled district is in Iowa. Frankly, we're not ready to recalibrate our thinking on this race until we see what kind of fundraising quarter Boswell has. His pre-primary filing in a couple of weeks will be very interesting.
