What pisses you off most about Nussle???
I was looking for some "nice" pics of DeficitJim for a new Tshirt. As I was looking at the pics I just got mad looking at him.
What makes me maddest is that he must take us for dumb hicks, too stupid to realize that he is one of the leaders of the cabal in congress that has driven us into a huge national debt that will burden my chldren, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Too stupid to realize that he was instrumental in cutting gaping holes in the so-called social safety net. Too stupid to realize that he has been one of the major cutters of education.
I wonder sometimes if folk like him don't go home at night and just laugh at how gullible we are. How gullible at least that the Regressives are for nominating him.
I probably will not vote for him.

1. He's a rampant hypocrite.
He bashed Bill Clinton for his affair while shagging his secretary (while his then-wife was at home taking care of their special-needs kid).

He wants to be fiscally responsible (James and the Giant Deficit: http://www.nussledeficit.org ).

He claims that we need to clean up corruption in Des Moines, but he has ties to Jack Abramoff.

He puts on the pious Christian act, despite the fact that a big part of Christianity is being humble, compassionate and charitable -- qualities which escape him.

2. Think of it like this...
Before Nussle: $236 B surplus

After Nussle: $412 B deficit

That's $2,130 for every man, woman, and child in America, gone, thanks in large part to one Jim Nussle.

I cannot understand america when you are allowed to criticize people and get away with it while doing the exact same thing.
Contract on "Merica"
Balanced budget amendment
Term Limits remember that Jimmy boy!
"I am going to give back 1/3 of my salary"
When asked why he didn't... The government wouldn't take it back"
Hey Jimmy, anyone I have ever written a check to has taken it. Just make it out to the US dept of the treasury you and your ilk will find a way to spend it.
JESUS HELL!

6. Well...
"I cannot understand america when you are allowed to criticize people and get away with it while doing the exact same thing."

Simple. Republicans can criticize Democrats for anything anytime no matter what, but don't you DARE criticize a great holy Republican.

3. Cutting the social safetey nets
Like Pell Grants, raising interest rates on student loans, cutting medicare and medicaid all so that the top 3% of Americans can have a tax cut.

5. Refusing to fully fund IDEA and then actually freezing funding of IDEA
All while having a child w/special needs going to public schools (which then puts the financial burden of providing for the child's educational needs on the local school district).

I remember in 2002 he put out a 'plan' to FINALLY fully fund IDEA at the 40% mandate that was created in 1974 when the act was initially passed - his plan didn't get it fully funded until 2013, but at least it would finally raise the federal funding beyond the 18% we've been at forever. I found it interesting that he decided to champion special education needs in 2002 (since he had so proudly displayed his daughter in 1992 & 1994 and then waited ten years to do anything to help her and others with special needs)but then realized that his potential opponent had a child with special needs - so he wanted to be first out of the gate on the issue :puke:

What a piece of shit.

(That's just the first issue that comes to mind, doubt that it's the biggest issue - I'm certain I have too many to count) :eyes:

8. Rank hypocrisy and partisanship...my favorite Nussle quote
Jim will say or do anything, at any given moment, to get ahead. Completely unscrupulous and ethically bankrupt.

"My biggest fear is going to be going to the funeral of some young Iowa man or woman who dies in this conflict and having their mother or father come up to me and ask whether or not their son or daughter died for America, or died to save Bill Clinton's presidency. I don't know what I would say to those grieving parents. For that reason I believe the President must resign immediately."

- Rep. Jim Nussle (R-IA), Congressional Record, H11963, 12-18-98

12. I think Nussle had some fascist tendencies before
but Dr. Rolf Craft at LC certainly helped Nussle along down the garden path to ideological dysfunction. Craft was also one time the chairman of the Iowa repukes. He was a pernicious influence for decades.

14. There were also a few liberal professors
at that time with their own little band of followers but the school is innately conservative and draws from a wealthy segment of society (heavily Chicago suburban too like Hinsdale and Naperville). Not a lot of progressive spark there even now though the current philosophy profs seem fairly alert to current events,i.e., feminism and the fact that fascism is bad (if these are indeed current events or trends).
