Do those who reside in Kansas really live?

I used to live in Wichita; wish I still did. I'm near Pittsburgh now and have been since 2000, but we may be moving to Dallas in the next several months. I miss my friends in Wichita a lot. I was born and raised in El Dorado (but don't miss it that much!)

I grew up in PV. Johnson County is a Republican stronghold. I've lived here 50 years. But they are more moderate than conservative

I'm about a mile south of Oak Park Mall. We ought to get together sometime soon.

I live in northern OP, closer to Mission Mall.

in Strawberry Hill. I live on the old farmstead of Civil War hero Mathias Splitlog, the Wyandot indian who started Kansas City Southern Railway. Called 'the millionaire indian,' Mathias lost the bulk of his fortune in a gold mine swindle.

He and his wife moved to Neosho county MO to be near the tribe, after its final migration. But the croatian immigrants who came to The old Town of Wyandotte created a small community like their mountainous homeland, with small houses perched closely together. They called it Strawberry Hill. Sliced apart by the interstate highway system, the neighborhood is smaller, but still has its european character intact.

The current mayor of Wyandotte Unified Govt, Carol Marinovich grew up a block away from my house. Strawberry Hill, with its strengths and faults is one of a vanishing breed. A neighborhood. It also has a fair number of Kucinich and Dean supporters.
