Kathleen Sebelius for PRESIDENT>>> we are lucky to have her
Dear Friend,

Hope has returned to the heartland.

We are investing in our schools. Business is rebounding. 30,000 more Kansans are working, and 41,000 more children have health care than when I took office.

This is good news, but it has not been easy.

The state was broke three years ago - suffering under the weight of nearly a billion dollars in budget deficits and broken promises. We cut costs. We sold off state owned cars and restructured the finances of our state’s multi-year highway program. The result – we have balanced three state budgets in tough economic times and never raised taxes.

Before I took office, we had neglected our schools for too many years. This just doesn’t make sense. Business and community leaders have constantly agreed with me that good schools equal good jobs. So with some hard work we made the biggest investment in schools in our state’s history last year, and just this week I endorsed a multi-year school funding plan that, if passed by the Legislature, will mean an additional investment of $500 million over three years for improving our schools.

But I am committed to making sure every one of your education dollars counts. That is why last year I called for an independent audit of school spending. The audit, by the nationally renowned auditing firm of Standard and Poors, has produced lessons in procedures and practices that will make education dollars the most productive for our children’s education.

There are many other issues to talk about; and as this year goes forward, I will be talking to you about many of them – issues like affordable and accessible health care, prescription drugs, keeping all Kansans safe, and giving parents more resources to help them help their children establish good and decent values.

But right now the Legislative session is in full swing; and I will be spending my time making sure your tax dollars are well spent, and the Legislature is paying attention to what’s really important for Kansas.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your Governor. Be certain that every day I will be working to retain your support.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Sebelius
Governor of Kansas

3. How about as V.P.
If Kathleen is reelected, I could see a Clark/Sebelius ticket in '08.

4. Senator From Kansas
People say from time to time that Nancy Landon Kassebaum was one of the most respected Senators this state has ever sent to D.C. I don't say that, but lots of people do. She did have grace and style.

I hope someday that Governor Sebelius replaces Nancy the most admired and respected Senator this state has ever had the honor of sending to Congress. And her style, grace, intelligence and leadership will surpass Nancy by miles. And she will be a Democrat.

5. We can keep her her for four more years.
Kansas law term-limits her to two terms in a row. I think she could sit out a term and then come back, but hopefully she'll go on to bigger and better things in 2010. Sam Brownback's seat will be up that year, and supposedly he's not planning to run again. Kathleen would probably walk away with it.

But that would mean, if she wants to run in 2012 (assuming no Dem in the WH)she'd only have served two years of a six year term, and that kind of jumping around tends to irritate voters. On the other hand, if the Dem wins in '08, she might well be appointed to some Federal position which would give her a good opportunity to position herself for a run in 2016, assuming that Dem is reelected in 2012.

In any event, she's a phenomenal governor and person, and I've had the privilege of meeting her several times over the past two years, and she's always gracious.

6. Kansas needs to keep her and Brownback needs to leave KS.
Brownback for President or why is he leaving the Senate? 'Senator Sam' is one sneaky man and should never be allowed to get anywhere being President. Pat Roberts on the hand, lap dog of BushCo.; needs deported to live with the polar bears, maybe he can study global warming.

KANSAS NEEDS A CHANGE.

7. In 2016, Sebelius will be 68, just younger than Ray-gun when he was
elected. We should shoot for 2008 or 2012 I think.
