MO KAN Dem Reunion Day

There is a new progressive organization in KC! Please go by our website and check us out.

Our aim is to unite progressives in the greater KC area. We plan on hooking up candidates and activists in both states. There are several DUers who are part of the group founding this organization - kiteinthewind, evlbstrd and myself.

We are very excited to announce our first event!

A Bi-State Event! July 29 5:30 pm
Whether you've canvassed all day or just rallied at your state Democratic Reunion, drop by, cool off, and chill out at the Westport Flea Market (817 Westport Road) with candidates and activists from both sides of the state line. Even if you missed the earlier events, come on by. Everyone is welcome to come meet with other Democrats and progressives, and get fired up for the final 100 days of the campaign.

Go to either the Missouri Democratic Reunion at 10:00 a.m. or one of the two Kansas Democratic Reunions at 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. Then come for this chill out party to bring the two states together. Westport Flea Market has the best burgers in town!

1. Kick for Saturday

The Flea Market will be offering discounts on food and drink to Chill Out attendees, and will be giving away discount cards until they run out.

Please come. Look for evlbstrd, kiteintheweind and me. Any DUer who comes and finds me gets a blue margarita - on the house. :woohoo:

2. We're going to try to make it but it is looking doubtful at this point

We've both been down and out for the past couple of days. The Admiral got sick first. He's been out of commission since Tuesday. It caught up to me Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I really don't remember Thursday at all. I think I slept through it. Today is the first time I've had enough energy to get out of bed and get dressed in two days. I'm still breaking out in sweats and coughing a lot. I tried brushing my hair earlier today but it hurts too much hence my Phyllis Diller/Don King hair style.

I'm pissed because I was looking forward to evl's after party.

The after party is including belly dancing!

This is going to be a fun event. kite and I are decorating and you know how we can be. LOL

I am looking for just the right t-shirt to wear. I can't find my KS DEMS t-shirt so I am thinking about wearing my IGNORANCE IS BUSH. I already decided my IMPEACH BUSH t-shirt may be a bit too in your face for this event.

4. Well, we had a great turnout.

With pictures to prove it. But, alas, no after party. I'm about to go watch my sweet daughter, evlspwn, belly dance at the Fringe Fest. You guys get yourselves well, and save it up, cuz I intend to drink you under the table!

5. I'd hope not!

I'd hope there's no after party because 1) we weren't there and 2) the frigging "cool down" party started nearly FIVE hours ago! If you guys are still partying after almost five hours y'all are in better shape than I am. :crazy:

Hope you have fun tonight. Maybe someday we'll get to meet evlspwn and see her belly dance.

Now when is that DFHA meeting again?

6. I just got back from evlspwn's performance.

With pictures. You'll meet her soon. She's moving back to Midtown this week from the County. Six months of the suburbs was all she could take.

We made it about five hours for the Chill-Out. And it wouldn't be an after-party without you guys.
Who needs a secret room? I've got a front porch!

10. I've been sick
