Well, Spr**t has finally jumped the shark....
I have a friend that works for Spr**t.

For 20 years now.
That person comes into work today at the Spr**t campus, and there are towers of the Kansas City Star piled FIVE FEET HIGH on tables in their building.

That person is like WTF?

It takes that person all day to realize that the reason for all of this, is that SPR**T had a full page ad in the Kansas City Star this morning saying "THANK YOU" to all of their associates for all of their hard work and dedication.

Oh, and rumour has it that Spr**t starts to hand out pink slips starting this Friday, and every Friday there after for the rest of the month.

5000 associates will hear "THANK YOU" and then they will be told that they don't have a job anymore.

I wish my friend well...

Who ever that person may be.

Because that person has to tell some of those 5000 "goodbye"

And that's fucked up.

1. And they get a free newspaper to take home along with their last paycheck!
What a great idea. LOL

I must have known 50 people who have worked for Sprint. Operative word is 'have'. Cause every single person I know who has ever worked for Sprint has been laid off.

2. Sprint has been laying off
in massive numbers for some years now. I keep on meeting people who used to work for Sprint. There was a time, more than ten years ago, when it was apparently a great company to work for, but it hasn't been that way for at least a decade.

And what makes it so tough for their newly-ex employees, is that it's such a huge part of the job market here that it's often very hard for them to get another job anywhere comparable to what they did at Sprint.

3. Its a fantastic company to work for. Just enjoy it while you can.
lolz.

Great benifits, cool atmosphere, the campus is beautiful, tons of great places to eat, park areas to sit and relax and get air, doctor's office on campus, gym with track, Basketball courts, fitness center...

Just, enjoy it while you can, cause it doesn't last long.
