UNC went down. Big time. Earlier today I checked the UNC board (InsideCarolina) and they were whining big time and bitching about Roy Williams. Their big complaint was the same one I had with him: he's not that hot of a defensive coach. It was funny. It almost felt like Fitzmas. ;)

It was funny because after RW left KU for UNC they came on to my favorite sports forum and acted like a bunch of howling freepers. They trashed us and told us how happy Roy was to escape from Kansas/midwest. They made fun of the midwest and have just been acting like cretins for some time now.

Finally, the UNC fans have been sneaking on my favorite sports forum these past couple of weeks and telling us that we were going out in the first round, again. They told us that we were a bunch of losers who couldn't make it to the Final Four, like they would, again. They were just out and out assholes. So, when they lost Sunday, or should I say, when their team totally collapsed and missed about the same number of easy shots that we did on Saturday, it was like Fitzmas all over again. Especially when they started whining about things like wrongful fouls, stacked/tough bracket, etc. it was funnier than hell.

At least you can indulge in a little schadenfruede. Go get 'em next year.

It was the 50th anniversary of our triple overtime loss and it would have been our 13th Final Four appearance. The number 13 was significant to me because it was Wilt's number. I miss the Big Dipper.

I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up my end of the bargain.

To be fair I should mention that Big Unit has only been married once and has been a faithful husband. Of that I have no doubt. But, with that said, you should ask them about their high school years :eyes:. From their stories, their high school sounded like it was a cross between Peyton Place and the Harper Valley PTA.

One issue down, many more to go.

We had a great group of friends over. I made a bunch of hot wings and vegetarian chili. I had also picked up some chips, dip, beer, pop and other goodies. One of our friends brought this huge frigging tub of fresh tamales with him. We ate throughout the game and then talked local politics late into the night.

Saturday's game sucked but, once again, we had company over and that was the real point of it. I think the team's loss on Saturday had a lot do with them playing the tough and physical game against SIU Thursday night after having played on Sunday afternoon. A few of the other teams played got more time off.

But hey, there's always next year. At least we got the "going out on the first round" monkey off our backs. And, as always, I am proud of my Jayhawks.

Sheesh.

even though he doesn't follow MU sports. If anyone should be offended it should be me and, believe me, I'm not. If anyone offended me at all it was the sportscasters in the first round who were salivating for KU to go down in the first round for the third year in a row. CBS's basketball coverage sucks.
