BOYDA VOTES FOR LARGEST TAX HIKE IN AMERICAN HISTORY
Supports Tax Hikes on Marriage, Children and Death



Washington--Nancy Boyda today joined the Democrat party in paving way for the largest tax increase in American history. This massive hike of nearly $400 billion will affect every worker in Kansas and increase 115 million people's tax liability by an average of $1,795 in 2011. Boyda also voted to increase non-defense spending by $24 billion dollars above the requested amount and ignored the looming effects of sky-rocketing entitlement spending.



"Nancy Boyda claimed herself an independent voice during her campaign," said Christian Morgan, Executive Director, Kansas Republican Party. "Now she is showing her true colors as a Pelosi-owned tax and spend liberal determined to raid the wallets of the middle class."



"She is quickly accumulating a record of both taxing and spending like it is going out of style," Morgan noted. "That is anything but fiscally responsible and anything but fair to hardworking Americans. Her defeat in 2008 can't come soon enough for Kansas taxpayers."



Why does Nancy Boyda want to increase taxes at the expense of hard-working Americans? By voting YES on Roll Call vote 212, Boyda supported:



* Raising the 10 percent tax rate bracket to 15 percent that would raise the taxes of more than five million individuals and families who previously owed no taxes.



* Eliminating marriage penalty tax relief, which would cause tax hikes for 23 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $466 in 2011.



* Cutting the child tax credit in half. This tax increase would raise taxes for 31 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $859 in 2011.



* Increasing the Death Tax by $91 billion dollars.
