King Chimpy coming to Kentucky - heard on the news tonight
that Chimpy and McConnell are coming to Kentucky next week for one of his infamous "town hall" meetings to push the social security disaster. Pretty sure I would never meet their strict criteria (Kool Aid stained tongues?) of robot material to actually get in the door but would love to give him my own brand of welcome anyways. Anybody know the date, place and time? I feel a protest sign and a march coming on.

Also heard that McConnell has thrown his hat into the ring to replace Frist as Majority Leader (who has announced he will not seek the position again). Ugh - that nasty old reprobate (McConnell) as anything but a cadaver in an opening sequence in a new Six Feet Under episode is over reaching his abilities. I cannot stand the man - he is one of the original leaders in dirty campaign smearing years before the rest of the repugs caught on how to trash an opponent.

1. The Chimp & Howdy Doody
Kentucky seems to have a love affair with both of these thugs. We were one of the reddest states and Brown & Williamson er McConnell got big numbers in his last election. Maybe someday we will wake up and get back to our democratic roots.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- President George W. Bush will return to Kentucky next week.

Officials confirmed that the President will leave the White House and travel to Louisville on Thursday, where he will participate in a conversation on strengthening Social Security. He will arrive mid-morning.

The conversation will take place at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.

The conversation will be open to the public, but to get in you must get a ticket.

Tickets will be distributed from the White House to local community groups, civic organizations and others that have an interest in Bush's remarks. Tickets also will be available to the offices of Congress members upon request.

***For those who are interested the Metro Dems are meeting Wednesday night at 6:30 - 719 Lynn Street. Several speakers will be available to discuss Social Security. Afterwards we are planning a sign making party.

4. Thanks for the info. I plan on being at the Metro meeting
My Meet-up group has decided to go on a hiatus for awhile. We are charged in finding other groups we can link up with (we are very small)to work toward the 2006 elections.

Anybody organizing a protest for the Chimp and the A$$wipe on Thursday?

5. Protests are in the work
I don't have any details yet other than I know various organizations (Metro Dems, LPAC, etc.) are planning on having a presence. I'm sure there will be more info at the Metro Dems meeting. If I hear of any news before then I'll post it on the forum.

Glad to hear you'll be at the meeting Wednesday!!!

6. I'll be at the meetup
I think a bunch of us should get into the event and do a silent protest. Imagine a group of 50 just sitting on their hands and daring not to applaud at the prompted moments?
