Air America comes to Cajun Country....
I just rec'd the following email:

"I called KEUN AM and found out that they have, indeed, switched to Air America. The call letters are 1490 AM. The station is based in Eunice but can be heard in Lafayette. This is amazing!"

Amazing is right...wtf is going on in LA?

Finecraft...let me know if you receive the signal in New Iberia, please. Wonder why Eunice, and not Lafayette? Lafayette would have been better for you and me. Oh well.

1. Air America's ratings have gone up 140% in L.A.

In almost every market, AAR has either held firm in ratings or increased. So we can all safely forget about all the right wing talk about how AAR is sinking. Like everything else they say, it's bullshit. In a little over one year and four months, they have gone from 5 stations to 69, and are the fourth highest rated radio station on the internet. Click on the link below to see just how good they're doing, and how much right wing radio is starting to feel the effects.

3. I meant to email you with this yesterday!
I can't even get static on 1490 AM in New Iberia. I don't think the people in Lafayette south of I10 can get this station. Is there a radio station in Delcambre (or maybe a big shrimp boat with a high-powered radio transmitter)that maybe we can get to carry AAR? (Just kidding). Although, isn't there a radio station located on the Abbeville/Lafayette highway near Maurice that maybe we can storm and take hostage until they carry AAR? :)

4. I can't get it either
That radio station on the Abbeville/Lafayette highway is now defunct...I think. I will check it out on my next trip up that way. Yeah, I like your idea of a mobile-AAR-shrimp-boat station....in Delcambre, no less. Can't you see Delcambre heads exploding all over the place? Haveta lol.

7. Does 1350 AM signal reach you?
When we drive back to Chicago, we can get that station for a while.

6. HooRAy! Can't wait to get it where I live in Louisiana
Radio down here is DOMINATED by ClearChannel and KRMD (the country radio station, that we call "redneck radio") was the station that did the much publicized public tractor crushing of the Dixie Chicks CD's -one example of how RED this stupid state is.
Naturally the right-wingers claimed for nearly two decades that the reason there was no national left-wing radio media was because no one wanted it. Nice to see the bastards eating crow. Everyday I hear the right-wingers gripe about Air America, so that's proof that they can't ignore it. Sean Hannity just got through trashing AA for an "alleged" scandal. It's funny: they say nobody listens to AAR then they viciously attack it. That's the definition of success: that which cannot be defeated must be accepted. Go Air America! Level the playing field and give 'em hell!

8. Its in other parts of the state as well
In New Orleans, 1350 AM is now AAR. They still carry Tom Fitzmoris though, so you can get your resturaunt guide still :)

11. Some KEUN information
I went to radio-locator.com... they unfortunately are a low power station (1000 watts). I live and work in north Lafayette Parish and have a hard time catching the station. The links are posted below.
