1. Finecraft in New Iberia reporting for duty!
(At least until the electricity goes out!) The wind is picking up and the rain is starting to fall. Other than that, things are fine for now....but I suspect the same won't be true around 5:00 tonight when the 60-70 mph winds and rain arrive. I'll try to update during the day if I can to let everyone know what is going on. :)

3. Hey Benito! How are things over there?
The wind is starting to pick up here with some high gusts. The rain has generally been light, but that has been getting heavier too. All in all, not too bad yet. I am really not looking forward to what we are supposed to have coming this evening though.

We're having a break right now from the rain. The winds are gusting from time to time, but nothing major yet. I'd never make it on Fox news, I'm just not dramatic enough.

Just waiting for the 4:00 update. and hoping the power stays on for a few more hours.

Ann, There's a dusk till dawn curfew for the parish. If I can get out in the morning I'm planning on finding your house and checking on it.

7. Dark and overcast
I am really feeling for you guys. Please be safe and check in when you can.
I am up in northern LA and we can see a difference in the weather already. It is cloudy and we should get rain tonight (it has been so dry up here that we welcome some rain). Many times when the gulf gets hurricanes, we get tornadoes, so I am headed to the store for supplies.
I will keep you in my thoughts.

8. strong stuff just moved through
and more coming. Starting to get dark now, but STILL HAVE ELECTRICITY!!! So excited about that.

Gusts from 40-50 recently and the next hour may be sketchy. Water not piling up yet and drainage is keeping up. I'll keep posting while I can.

Anyone else checking in?

keep us updated as long as you can....you too, Finecraft! Tony, build an ark if it gets rough....can't believe you're in that stuff....raining hard here in BR, and wind blowing. They keep the TV tuned to Fox News, think my head is going to explode. Take care.

P.S. Tony, the MAIN thing I want to know is IMMEDIATELY WHEN it is safe for me to come home!!! Thanks for any info you can get to me, Ann

9. 7:30 still have power
it flashes about once an hour, but it stays on.
Had approx 60mph wind a few minutes ago.

Came back from BR yesterday late maybe bug out N w/ my wife early this AM if conditons warranted.

But we are fine and still have power.

All: sorry I didn't get in touch better re: a place to whole up. I was busy in BR again all week sleeping in my office and just wasn't sure we'd stay until about 6:00 AM today.

Anyhow, glad all are OK so far. Stay in touch. Stay safe.

15. Baton Rouge checking in
All here are safe and well and just a little shaken up. Family, friends, dogs and cats from Lake Charles all staying here until they can return to Lake Charles.

Good to see other LA people checking in safe.
