The Rebuild Louisiana "Right" Coalition
I just got a press release about a new website dedicated to rebuilding Louisiana "Right":

http://www.rebuildlouisianaright.com/index.html

SNIP*********
WHO WE ARE

In the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation put forth a set of principles and specifics to deal with the problems that face this state.

That initiative has grown into the Rebuild Louisiana Right Coalition, a bi-partisan alliance dedicated to fostering creativity and problem solving where citizens and elected officials of all levels and backgrounds can bring ideas to the table. By doing so, many issues can be resolved quickly.

Together, we are working with Louisiana citizens, businesses, community leaders and elected officials to create an environment where business can flourish, people can enjoy life and have an opportunity to succeed. In these extraordinary times, an equally extraordinary opportunity exists to REBUILD LOUISIANA RIGHT!
END SNIP*****************

2. "This web site was designed by a proud Louisiana company!"
although not, apparently, proud enough to actually tell you their name, like 99% of other web designers in the world who want the publicity :eyes:

Couldn't find any listserv or forums or anything. Cripes, I'm already on three of 'em, and remember, I haven't lived in the city since the phrase "President Bush" could be uttered with a straight face! I think I'll skip one initiated by repukes...

4. Okay, now I'm on four of 'em
This could seriously start cutting into my DU time... then again, this IS the most important issue to face the country in my lifetime, bearing in mind I was born three years after the Cuban Missile Crisis.

5. I just sent the info thru the LA Dems Yahoo Group
Maybe one of them has heard of it, or knows how to dig deeper into the website. How about asking the DU Computer Geeks forum (assuming there still is one) for help??

6. Thanks Ann, I appreciate the help
I thought it was odd that on the press release I got there was no information about who founded the group, who belongs to the group or any other information about the organization....except that their website was designed by a "Proud Louisiana Company". I hate crap like this. If you are proud of your organization, or cared about what it is you are trying to do, why not let people know who you are? This stealth crap about rebuilding Louisiana "Right" is a load of bull. If they are not man enough to stand in front of their organization, then I'm woman enough to expose them, if I possibly can, for the chicken-shit slime they obviously are.

7. No serious geeking required
Just an online whois at internic.net/whois and Google.

Uh, they are registered through Bulk Register, LLC (bulkregister.com), effectively screening who's running the place. Always suspicious. Details here: http://www2.bulkregister.com/privWhois.php

8. Heard back from geek in Lafayette
As much as he tried, could not uncover any more info. Don't yall find that this level of secrecy is unusual?

Have you "subscribed" to their mailing list? It would be interesting to see if they start putting out info to subscribers, or asking for donations. Donations would require they give out more info, huh?

9. Anyone know the solitication laws for Louisiana
Do solicitors of funds for a non-profit or not-for-profit organization have to register somewhere with the state? Most states have some such regulations, so it might be possible to track down who they are there.

I'll check with the Secretary of State's Office now and post the results when I get them. Thanks!

11. Icky..Icky...Icky
I just registered with them. I feel like I need to go shower now. I'll let you know when I get a message back from them. Thanks for asking around to see if anyone knows anything about this group. I'll post information as I find out more about them. Something makes me think they aren't located in Louisiana.

13. Found out that State Rep. Steve Scalise started this
He's a Republican from Metairie. Interesting.....he has his own website at www.stevescalise.com. I wonder if he is planning on running for William Jefferson's seat? Wouldn't surprise me in the least, since he is interested in "Rebuilding Louisiana Right".

15. I talked to our Representative
and asked him if he knew anything about this group. As far as he knows, there are no Dems in the House that are part of this "bipartisan" coalition. What a coalition.....a group of Republicans trying to legitimize their little group under the cloak of bipartisanship, and every single one afraid to publicly admit they belong to the group. What a bunch of losers.

16. Well, good grief
Hopefully this little bipartisan (?) effort will never get off the ground....altho, we all know that the Big Picture for the pukes is to turn LA totally red, using Katrina to do it. You should be able to tell if the group is active, or is having some effect, by the updates you receive from them. Please keep us informed, Mata Hari.

17. Oh boy! I got 2 Rebuild Louisiana "Right" bumper stickers!
This group sure does respond to their email quickly. Who wants one?
I'm thinking about adding the phrase "By voting For A Democrat" on mine, along with a picture of the DU Donkey. Or maybe..."By Impeaching George Bush". Which phrase do you like better? Think they would be offended?

Save me one.....I'll put it on my bulletin board, next to my Gore, Kerry, Code Pink, and DU bumper stickers!!! What next? Buttons, brochures, caps, t-shirts? You might make out like a bandit here.
