Blanco to not run, according to AP

BATON ROUGE (AP) A letter written by Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco and obtained by The Associated Press says the Democrat has decided not to seek re-election.

Blanco schedules television time Tuesday

Gov. Kathleen Blanco has scheduled a three-minute television address over a satellite feed tonight amid talk all over the state that she is reconsidering her plans to seek a second term.

Blanco will go on the satellite feed at 6:02 p.m. for three minutes, said Chuck Bark, news director at WRBZ-TV.

Blanco’s predecessor, former Gov. Mike Foster, said he is surprised by the talk because Blanco has been so “tenacious” in tackling a job that was complicated by the most damaging hurricane in U.S. history.

butting heads with the Republics in Washington has to get pretty frustrating. They've fought her every inch of the way, not want to give in to a Democrat. It doesn't matter to them that thousands of people died and thousands more are suffering, they just don't want to give in to a Democrat. It would make them look weak, in their opinion. They politicize everything. So, Ms. Blanco, if you decide to not run again, it's been good to know 'ya. Too bad you had to run into this bunch of cement-heads with your State in ruin. The people of Louisiana thank you for your efforts.
