1. Snowe
The conservatives have considered Snowe a RINO for years and are always fantasizing about replacing her with a true believer. Some of them may well give their votes to someone else as a protest, but it won't be nearly enough to change the outcome of the election. Sort of like the Dems who will vote for Merrill or LaMarche to protest some aspect of Baldacci they dislike. Happens with all incumbents, I suppose.

2. If enough "True Believers" defect Olympia's camp
and enough Dems and Indy's (who have had "enough" of Olympia) vote for Jean Hay Bright...

...who knows????
