Our caucuses are in play. Hooray!
After Tuesday's results we have relevance. I was afraid it would be all over.

Obama is heading to Nebraska which has caucuses Saturday. Maybe he'll come here.

Has anyone heard anything from the Clinton campaign? I've gotten calls and emails from the Obama people but nothing from Clinton. I hear radio ads for Obama only.

Let's hope this forecasted snow for Saturday/Sunday clears up by 1PM.

As we are going all alone that day.

I've haven't heard boo from the Clinton campaign. I've gotten a ton of robot phone calls from Obama's campaign though..

3. Now that you mention it ...
I haven't heard a word from the Clinton people, but I've received two phone calls from local folks working for Obama. Maybe she doesn't think Maine is worth the effort?

JUST IN CASE, here's the link to the caucuses around the state of Maine:

Gotta admit, I figured happening after Super Tuesday that our caucus would be meaningless. I'm REALLY GLAD to be wrong!!!

6. So... How do we change our backwards state over to a primary?
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 05:42 PM by high density
I'll admit I've never participated in a caucus beyond an absentee vote, but from what I've read and seen I am not impressed with the idea of a caucus. I'm thinking about going on Sunday but I just don't want to put up with any bullshit. It would be great to see our state party embrace the idea of a primary instead of a caucus.

11. I've got to disagree
I'm all for caucusing.

Why do people think primaries are more democratic. They are not!

We expect more than 300 people in belfast tomorrow. We won't just vote for president, we will elect town officers and members of the county committee. If we had a primary, those offices would not be voted on by hundreds of Belfast Dems, but by the small handful of people who show up for regular meetings. So which is more democratic?

Many more people get involved locally because of the caucus, and it gives us an opportunity to sign up campaign volunteers we wouldn't get otherwise.

12. The problem is I have no intention of doing anything but voting for the president nomination
I do not have the desire to participate in anything else. In fact I'm regretting that I didn't vote absentee this year.

8. i have had two calls from Clinton
One the other night was a robo-call, but an hour or two ago I had a call from a live person. I let her know that I am supporting Hillary (made up my mind a few days ago after much indecision).
