During my campaign in 2008 I had three live-in aides---a black former Baltimore policeman, a computer devotee who, when he could be lured out of cyberspace, performed prodigiously and Thayne Ormsby. He followed orders without demur, drove me around, carried the signs, introduced me to voters and handed out literature at parade. Performed like pro.

After the campaign he resided for a number of months in my brother's study back in the woods (my brother having decided to reside in the Philippines year-round).

FLAMMENWERFER is non other than John Frary

"On his Facebook page, Ormsby describes himself as single, a Republican and Christian Protestant. His personal message on the page states: 'I have two passions, love & war.' "

I checked out his page and don't see the Republic and Christian Protestant part. Maybe you need to "friend" him. :scared:
Or scrubbed?:tinfoilhat:
Checked out his friends and this Frary guy is there. (Never heard of him.) Go to his page. Awesome picture. Nutjob?

3. Frary ran for US House against Michaud a couple years ago
When he showed up at an event his little boys would lead with the black dude carrying a Roman Standard. Extremely bizarre scene.

I was manning the party booth at the Harmony Free Fair on Labor Day 08. The Repuke booth was just opposite. Every time I looked up, one of Frary's fairies would be staring . Very creepy.

Easy to imagine that their quality evening "family value" time involved leather, chains, buggy whips and other objects of intimacy.

I'm sure there will be more to this tale as time moves along.

4. What blows my mind
When you go to Thayne's facebook yeah you can see his friends and also the woman that claims to of been the fiance of Jeff Ryan and the daughter of the man, Jeff Ryan, that was brutally murdered by him. This lady told the news that he proposed a couple weeks before to her. This woman had a child by Jeff Ryan and is friends with the murderer. She can't say she hasn't been on because if you go to her facebook it shows she has been on alot. Wouldn't that be a priority for the woman and Jeff Ryan's daughter to take a murderer of your loved one off your facebook. It doesn't take a genius to realize that he wasn't in it alone. Jeff Ryan's own son claims that the supposed fiance was kicked out of Jeff's house a couple weeks prior to this for stealing. It angers me that not everyone in this case is behind bars or paying the price of three lives lost.

I'm beginning to understand what attracted Ormsby to the Frary campaign-

http://www.fraryforcongress.com/helpwanted.htm

"Sample Ethical Question:

The candidate ends a long tempestuous relationship by bludgeoning his girlfriend to death with a pop tart box. You enter and witness the grisly scene (blueberries everywhere, etc). You should:

A) Call the police

B) Call an attorney.

C) Call his opponent and ask for a job

D) Explain to the candidate that his actions are unforgivable and then ask 'Now where can we hide the body?'.

KEY: A & B: you are not cut out for politics, and should consider careers in the food service or housekeeping fields; C - promising, but no, , see me privately for further instruction; and D - was there ever any doubt in your mind?"

-

Wow.

and to seal the deal for possible applicants....

"So please send this out to the Usual Suspects, and let us know who will bite. I'm not kidding you - the Frary campaign is as much fun as you will ever have with your pants on.

Thank you,"

------------

This Help Wanted ad is strange, to say the least....here's another snippet:

HAVE A SCHEDULE AND KEEP TO IT. Make the path smooth. Open doors. Stay behind the candidate. Barely give your name, and then only if asked. Make a space for the candidate and then let him exploit it. Announce the candidate to small groups. Take charge in parades. Always be cheerful and never look worried. Do not let one person monopolize the candidate's time. Wipe the candidates shirt, tie or ass if necessary. If there is sex on the campaign trail, you won't be having it. No drinking, no days off (for you). Do not expect to be paid - you should be paying the candidate for the privilege of serving him. If the candidate is buying, always order the cheapest thing on the menu, and never a beverage.. Dress loud and draw attention to your cause - the suit and tie stuff is for people who have jobs, which you don't.

And this is still up, 2 years after the election...

9. In case anyone doesn't understand what Frary's nom-de-plume is
http://asmainegoeslolz.com/?page_id=43

Frary’s use of “Flammenwerfer” as a pen name speaks volumes. A “flammenwerfer” is a Nazi flamethrower. The Third Reich used this weapon to incinerate American and other allied soldiers by spraying them with burning liquid. The Nazis also used Mr. Frary’s chosen namesake to suppress the Jewish uprising in the Warsaw ghetto. One survivor, Marek Edelman, offers the following account, quoted in Wikepedia: “We were beaten by the flames, not the Germans… The sea of flames flooded houses and courtyards… There was no air, only black, choking smoke and heavy burning heat radiating form the red-hot walls, from the glowing stone stairs.” Frary is hardly the only right winger who finds flirting with Nazism edgy and titillating.

He sorta reminds me of WC Fields - equally difficult to take him serious.

10. Is it just me, or has anyone else picked up on
a possible (repressed/hidden) gay vibe from Frary? And that Ormsby might've been some sort of boy-toy to him?

Please don't take this the wrong way guys... the indisputable fact that the man is odd (to say the least) is not what I'm referring to. There are alot of bizarre folks in this world; gay and heterosexual. Weirdness is just plain weirdness and not exclusive to any particular group of people.

No, what I mean by this has more to do with the facts as I know them. For example, He panders (politically speaking) to people who aren't exactly welcoming to gay folks therefore, would be unlikely to live as an openly gay person. Especially north of Augusta. Because of this unfair stigma, and especially among the types he associates with, he'd certainly be likely to hide it.

So then, how to hide it? One way to do it would be to have a 'roommate' or to simply take in a homeless man (and an attractive one at that) under the guise of "kindness". Now this is where my suspicions come in... I don't know alot about Frary, but based on the few things I've read in the media and on AMG, the man doesn't appear to have a beneficent bone in his body. In fact he seems to have an outright hostile attitude toward the poor, the destitute, or the 'weak of character' as he would likely perceive Ormsby to be.

Furthermore, Frary also seems to have an Authoritarian Dominate Style to his personality, possibly to the point of sadism...(read some if his writings as an ex. of what I mean) He seems to crave total submission to his 'oh-so-magnificent' persona. A down and out (and possibly unstable) homeless guy would likely be easy prey.

OK, so after all this, and even if you agree with me on this theory/gut feeling, you're probably wondering why this observation matters.... Frary might be gay and the homeless murderer his boy-toy... who cares?

Think of the connections though... At the very least I can't help but wonder if there is not some deeper motivation here behind these otherwise nonsensical murders. Frary might not be involved directly or even indirectly. He very likely doesn't even know the victims. However, he may have had a hand in shaping the warped personality of the man who committed the crime. That I find fascinating.

11. I think that's pretty much what the point is with Frary.
He's got a lot of personal issues that coalesce into an anti-social agenda. I'm wondering how Ormsby's time with Frary warped his thinking. A young person's brain can be quite influenced, for good or bad, in the hands of an Alpha-male that a person, like Frary, fancies himself to be. The fact that Frary has volunteered his association with Ormsby makes me wonder if he's subconsciously outing himself. I really don't think we've gotten the whole story about Ormsby or his relationship with Frary and his band of protagonists. If I'm Ormsby's counsel, I'm going to be investigating what role Frary played in Ormsby mental development (or, more likely, devolution).

12. Exactly!...
You've summed up my thoughts far better. A charismatic, (possibly sadistic), anti-social personality on Frary's part and it's ramifications on someone vulnerable to that sort of dogma could be a viable defense for Ormsby (albeit difficult for a myriad of reasons) Nonetheless, do-able for an insanity plea along with other considerations ie. possible childhood trauma ect.

Personally, I'm not a fan of insanity defense pleas' and thankful that our justice system sees fit to let very few prevail. But wouldn't it be interesting to see Frary and even AMG (by association) somehow brought into this?

I'm no expert in this sort of thing, but IMHO Ormsby's defense lawyer(s) may have no other choice but to seek such a defense... Clearly, I'm doing alot of speculation and there is probably alot of things we (the public) don't know.

But it'd be very interesting to see if that happens... Not to make light of a horribly tragic situation, but if there is anything even remotely good to come of this awful thing, Ormsby, Frary, AND his/their nutjob teabagging friends at AMG possibly facing psychological scrutiny would certainly serve us some bit of public good.

BTW- One other thing... I thought the same thing about Frary possibly subconsciously outing himself!

13. Herfe's an interesting admission from one of Frary's self descibed posse
Attic Owl on AMG - Fri, 07/02/2010 - 11:38pm

"I confess, as one of Flammenwerfer's posse with Ormsby, i sharpened Ormsby's military WW2 combat knife to a razor sharpness in 2008. I'm very good at that. I never guessed the piece would be used that way."

http://www.asmainegoes.com/content/arrest-amity-triple-murder

Who'd have guessed? I'm sure AO thought Ormsby was going to skin squirrels with it...a real interesting bunch of anti-socialists. And to think these people are now in charge of the Maine Republican Party....

Poster: Michelle Anderson..Wed, 07/14/2010 - 11:16am

Quote: "Mix in a little Terri Schiavo sort of event, which proclaims to all the world that if life is worth little at the beginning, it is surely worth as little at the end. Or where a doctor has been paid by a family who wishes it to be at the end."

In her demented mind this explains how someone becomes a mass killer?

How is it she's such a fruitcake? Maybe it's because she associated with sociopaths.

Qoute: "I know three of the Manson girls, two of them very well. I played Scrabble regularly with the late Susan Atkins for several years. I lived in the same room with Leslie Van Houten for about 7 months. I knew Pat Krenwinkle in passing, though we never had deep conversations."

23. Bail set for Amity triple slaying alleged accomplice
The Associated Press

HOULTON — A Maine man accused of helping to conceal evidence in a triple slaying in northern Maine has pleaded not guilty.

Robert Strout of Orient appeared today in District Court in Presque Isle via video link from the Aroostook County Jail, where he was being held.

Police say the 63-year-old Strout helped Thayne Ormsby after Ormsby allegedly stabbed Jeffrey Ryan, Ryan's 10-year-old son and neighbor Jason Dehahn in Amity. Strout told police he feared for his life when he gave assistance, including driving Ormsby to New Hampshire.

Strout was arrested Friday on charges of hindering apprehension and arson. A judge set bail at $20,000 cash or $50,000 in property.
