The United Nations FAO reports that the world production of potatoes in 2009 was 330 million tonnes.<49> Just over two thirds of the global production is eaten directly by humans with the rest being fed to animals or used to produce starch. This means that the annual diet of an average global citizen in the first decade of the 21st century included about 33 kg (or 73 lb) of potato.<1> However, the local importance of potato is extremely variable and rapidly changing. It remains an
just so you know we rank 5th in potato production- when I was a kid we were #1 and maine's potato was world recognized!
but guess what we rank 36 in how our people live which includes housing, health care, education and expendable income and even more important leisure time!
yeh so you idiots keep letting not pay their fair share and keep giving the oil companies corporate welfare (more money to stick it to ya while their profits soar)

EU figures from 2007 include Poland, Finland and Germany.

Oats are grown throughout the temperate zones. They have a lower summer heat requirement and greater tolerance of rain than other cereals, such as wheat, rye or barley, so are particularly important in areas with cool, wet summers, such as Northwest Europe; they are even being grown successfully in Iceland. Oats are an annual plant, and can be planted either in autumn (for late summer harvest) or in the spring (for early autumn harvest).

don't see this in the kennebunk gossip column

3. well they haven't lost this one yet but their working on it

Sept 3 (Reuters) - India's corn exports may drop sharply or
even grind to a halt as the country's worst monsoon in nearly
four decades threatens to decimate output, prompting New Delhi
to scrap an export subsidy. India's absence from export markets is unlikely to ignite
world prices -- it exports 2 million to 3 million tonnes amid
global trade of more than 80 million -- but it could trigger a
scramble among Southeast Asian buyers, who depend on small
cargoes for nearby shipments. Following table

seems the rest of the world is speeding ahead of us while the right prefers to hunt for
wmd's and invade the wrong country while the 1% click has been setting us up as they steadily invest their profits in foreign lands! yup they blind sided those fools who have been gobbling the crumbs while they stole our retirements, our wealth and our resources!

p.s.do you remember the great drought in texas and the mid-west this summer. do you remember the tv news showing the farmers selling off their cattle because they couldn't either find hay or afford it ! that meant lower cattle prices=hey have you seen it in your meat prices? of course not because you been conned again!
vote the bums out while you still can!
