1. Mr.Simms sounds like a very fair and decent guy.
And he has such an impressive education and resume! Wow! Please tell him I wish him the best of luck goclark. We need thousands more like him in office!

You are fortunate to have such good people in your family. Mine is filled with repugs.

It sounds as if Maryland would be fortunate to have him as second in command.

:hi:

4. I didn't log in. I just clicked politics on the left
and somehow worked around it. Can't remember exactly what was next, but I didn't sign in and got to read the entire article.

goclark has another thread going in GD and posted excerpts. See her post above for link.

5. No offense to you... But its about damn time.
Duncan has been searching for a running mate for over 4 months. Everyone he asked until now shot him down.

7. Well, rumor has it he wanted Brown to begin with, but O'Malley snagged him
Duncan also asked the President of UMBC, Freeman A. Hrabowski, but like Brown, he said no.

There were also rumors that Duncan was interested in a Baltimore City Council member or a DA from Baltimore, but no one stepped up to run with him.

IMO, his campaign has been a complete disaster. O'Malley is popular, but his record is rather weak. One would figure Duncan would have capitalized on O'Malleys troubles by now... Guess not.

Regarding the Natual Gas Plant in Sparrows Point. As far as I know its a NO-GO. People just werent willing to sacrafice being blown-up for 70 or so permanent jobs.

By the way, who do you like for County Council in District 7... Myer or Olszewski?

8. I thought Olszewski is running for the House of Delegates.
at least that's what I saw on about a half dozen bumper stickers in my mother's area.

9. That's his son. Junior is running for the House of Delegates
in district 6. Ill will be voting for him too. Minick and Arnick need to go, they've been around far too long.

Senior is currently the chairman of the county council and is seeking a 3rd term.

11. Coolness!
Duncan's got two votes from just across the line in PeeGee Canny. Me and my husband. In retrospect, we kinda wish we'd bought in MoCo instead of PG. But, we don't have kids, so they're not going to PG's sucky schools.
