DSCC: Michael Steele Likes Puppies. So What?

I saw an ad paid for by the DSCC for Ben Cardin. It starts with a clip of Steele's 'puppies' ad and then goes on to show his connection to Il Dunce and his stance on several issues, including choice.

The tone was similar to Steele's own ads.

Good ad. Better still is that we're getting some national help here.

I just saw it in between two Steele ads on the WRC news.. It even shows the pic of him holding the damn puppy.
Says it's nice that he likes puppies. But that the election isn't about puppies. It is about issues. And then it goes on to explain how he is attached to Bush's butt, ending with a pic of the two smiling with arms around each other.

Nice. Very nice.

Yes, it is great to see national ad money.

If I were Ben, I'd hit Steele's ashamed? Show shots of his website devoid of mention of party (should be illegal) and intercut them with shots with the shrub, with a scarlet letter strategy voiceover.

Just an idea. Haven't seen any poll data.
