I've been getting constant phone calls by the Wynn/Edwards campaigns.
Looks like a hot race. My latest call was from Ike Leggett, the MC county executive who said that Wynn has helped the county alot.
Before that, an Edwards phone call pointed out her endorsement by WaPo.

1. Jeez, while I posted this, I got another phone call from the Wynn campaign
saying that Donna didn't pay her federal taxes.

WTF?

3. After waiting over a month to get a landline, my first two phone calls were
from the Washington Post wanting to sell me a subscription and Hillary's campaign. I haven't gotten any of the Wynn/Edwards calls and I don't think I want them.

I saw a guy with an Edwards sign and literature this morning at the Twinbrook Metro station. He was there handing stuff out. There was also a Hillary volunteer. fwiw, I saw two people take stuff from the Edwards guy and the Hillary worker was being ignored.

4. You would'nt want to.
I've been getting flyers in the mail for days from both camps. Geez, makes me wanna sit out the primary altogether. Thankfully I have'nt gotten any phone calls so one's better than the other I guess.

5. I don't know how the Hillary people knew we were Dems
or how they found us. Heck, most of friends don't have the phone number yet.

6. Can the candidates get the registration documents for party affiliation
in Maryland? In addition, are you registered with the local Democratic party?

I've been wondering that too....

This morning, I got a call from Sheriff Jackson supporting Obama.

7. We haven't registered yet
We're still registered in Kansas. Getting registered to vote here in Maryland is on my "to-do list" along with getting the car re-registered/tagged here, new insurance and going one week without anything weird happening. I did tell my out Democratic regional coordinator back in Kansas that we were thinking about moving back in December but I haven't contacted him with either our address or phone number. We planned not to give out the landline number until we knew it was working. I only give it to three people back home and none of them have given it out to anyone.

I just wonder how they knew we were Dems. Of course I'm assuming that the "Hi, I'm with Hillary and I want to invite you to whatever" phone calls were only made to Democratic households. I guess the most reasonable explanation is that whomever had the number before us was also a Dem. Any other explanation kind of gives me the creeps and makes me paranoid.

9. That's what I am worried about
I'm going with the theory that this number used to belong to another Dem in the past. I've got to believe that or I'm hanging it up now. I mean, we got the number back in January but the account wasn't activated until last week. Then again, the Washington Post knew our name when they called. :scared:

I'm beginning to think that Hillary's got one helluva machine that's capable of tracking two Dems from Kansas to Maryland and found our phone number before the post office could begin forwarding our mail (which just started coming today) to us.

12. when you register to vote
you name goes on the voter rolls. The campaigns buy the voter rolls from list management companies that match you with a phone number. There is nothing sinister.

10. election calls
This last election, I received 45 calls - all but one from electronic call centers or something. These are the call that are really annoying--they are just an announcement message - like "be sure to vote today...". Only one call was from an actual person - I remember the days when all the calls were from people - or volunteers. I even tried to block the auto calls through my Voip
service but wasn't successful. I guess times have changes and it's probably super cheap for these mass outbound computer calls.
