Why Can't Mitt Spend Some Quality Time In Mass?
Instead of running around the country with his president? Does he hate us that much?

2. He is well on his way to the worst Governor this state has ever had
Outside of social agendas(which he is on the wrong side) he hasn't done anything he can hang his hat on. If it weren't for gay marriage in this state, he could just stay home in Belmont everyday and never be missed. But gay marriage got his bigoted ass out the door. Remember. He has referred to gays as deviant behavior in his past. This is a religious issue with him. Now he gets to run around with other repukes and head out to the RNC. What a party this guy leads. The biggest story not covered by the media is that he didn't save the Olympics. People out there said reforms were well under way before he showed up. The Boston globe tried to get the truth out there during his run for Governor but it didn't have any legs. Just like the Boston Globe story of what Bush did in the war during his national Guard lack-of-service. Maybe mitt will eventually be exposed as a fraud like Bush.

And Healey, the Lt. Governor. She once came to my town of Medfield and said how nice it was to visit Medford. Bozos! Everyone of them.

8. In an issue of last weeks "The Republican,"
she hinted at possibly running for Kerry's senate seat once he's elected. Chills went up my spine and my gag reflexes went into overdrive.

The whole Mutt Romney administration is a farce. I'll never forget when he went to a Holyoke public school and rambled on about the drug problems that were occurring at that very school...when, in fact, there wasn't a single problem with drugs. Parents and teachers were outraged.

5. Mass is just his stepping stone
and he will be sorely disappointed when the party isn't too quick to nominate a pro-choice gov from a blue state for president.

6. Why would he stay there when none of the Repuke Gov's did?
Weld, off to Mexico, Celluci, off to Canada. No Mass. Repuke Governor really wants to be the Governor of a state viewed as "liberal". We lived there for 15 years and were always amazed that repukes got elected Governor.

7. Weld didn't actually go to Mexico.
I forget exactly what happened, but his appointment could not go forward because of repugs, I believe, fighting it. I think it was because Weld was in favor of medical marijuana, and they sure as heck didn't want him in Mexico.

I believe he ended up in NY and was writing fiction; had at least one book published. But yeah, he got bored with the governor gig.

10. I think Helms blocked his nomination
because of his position on drugs.

Typical. Weld is a pretty decent guy as Republicans go.

12. Helms blocked...
Weld, b/c when Weld was running against Kerry, he was asked whether he would replace Helms as chair of the foreign relations committee in the senate and he danced around it.

jesse would screw his own grandmother if she dissed him.

14. Oh, he does own a house in MA. A real nice one in Belmont.
You know, the affluent town where the big new Mormon church was built.

I think the answer to the question is that he doesn't give a shit about MA; he's using it as yet another stepping stone to national office, he hopes. Besides doing campaign appearances with bush and speaking at the RNC, he's also traveling to shill his book about 'saving the Olympics.' Oh yeah, the man has ambitions. I cannot stand him.

16. the true secret is OUT, OUT . . .
Romney wants Dumbya to get elected in '04 solely b/c it gives Romney a chance in '08 . . . after all, Romney's already been trounced by Ted for one of the MA U.S. Senate seats. You don't really believe that he'd try that again if Kerry were to win? Nah. Romney's "surest" way in light of rightwing politics across America is to push for Bush/Cheney in '04.

Hey, Mitt, look in the camera, smile that boyish grin, spray that glorious hair and give em another 10-second sound bite re "gays, guns, and God!!"

17. No way will Romney go after a Senate seat...
his partner-in-crime Kerry Healey will. She's said as much. She'll never win, but it sure will be funny to see her embarrass herself. She's such a pig I can't stand it.

22. why cannot Romney spend "quality time" in MA?
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 06:02 PM by TaleWgnDg
Surely you jest! Come on, fess up?!

We ALL know why Mitt Romney chose Massachusetts to run as governor instead of his native Utah. Because the Governors slot was open in Massachusetts, he was able to flim-flam his legal domicile records to appease the MA constitution and the MA bench (those damn "activist" judges!). All on his way up the road, so to speak, using the state's voters as a ladder to the Oval Office. Didn't you read some of the press coverage at the time in Utah?

No matter WHAT Mitt does, Mitt does it w/ an eye on the White House -- from his editorials in the Wall Street Journal smearing such minorities as gays ("eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!!" can't you hear him?) to flip-flops about funding abortion, to testifying before some Banana Republic congressional hearings in D.C. about "families and gays."

Yes, despite his warm grin, gleaming white teeth, coifed 'n sprayed hair, and little boy demeanor in public, Mitt Romney is a hardened venture capitalist who would not hesitate to use similar business tactics upon the public-at-large.

He's just another George W. Bush clone who cannot decipher between what is his OWN religious beliefs and what is both our state and our federal constitutional requirements.

Aren't you pissed off? Aren't you pissed off that Mitt is using us, here, in Massachusetts as stepping stones in order to fulfill his own personal need to be president? To push his own religious beliefs upon us all as Americans? I am. I sure am.
