Do you use Liberty Mutual for Homeowners Insurance?
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 10:42 AM by yy4me
I am very upset, just received my new Homeowners policy for June 07 thru May 08. Huge increase in cost. These last 2 years are unbelievable.

Base cost for coverage 5/06 to 5/07, $1566.00
(not inc deadbolt, smoke detector, fire ext etc. deductions)

Base cost for same coverage 5/07 thru 5/08, same deductions 2160.00

I am trying to find other companies to call for quotes but a lot of companies are not licensed to do business in Mass and many do not seem to have very good satisfaction reviews from their customers.

What company do you use and are you satisfied? I plan to call my company tomorrow to see why the huge increase. I also will call other carriers. We have never had a claim in the 40 years we have been with Liberty Mutual so that is not the reason for the huge increase. Are we paying for the disasters all over the country?

Is every carrier making these huge jumps in premiums? I am not unhappy with the company, just the increase. Maybe this is now just the way things are!

Thanks in advance.

2. I'd suggest you try Amica.
I've had them for about five years & have been pleased with their customer service. My recent renewal was a nominal increase.
