1. This is very interesting
In a sense it makes me feel a little better. There are in actuality no blue states and red states, that just shows the majority of precincts. I live in a blue precinct in a red district in a red state, but it is a blue precinct.

2. Interesting
Most of the places who voted for him are either fairly isolated or really wealthy.

I'm proud to say only one town on the Cape voted for him (that would be Sandwich, but they didn't vote for him by much -- only a few votes). Hell, Kerry won in Chatham, wealthy Repuke central.

4. color resolution
I'm having a hard time telling the difference between "won by Kerry" and "won by Bush, less than 51%." Is it just my monitor (or my eyes) or is this a problem for others?

6. One thing I noticed
while holding signs on Tuesday in Palmer was that none of the people who honked as * supporters went and voted. They just drove right on by, honking and yelling about how * supported the troops, yet they failed to go vote. Kerry supporters, meanwhile, curtly waved and smiled and voted.

On another note, that fucker Todd Smola beat Monica Boyce for the rep seat.

7. Well, there you go! So much for Mittens Romney's run for
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:54 PM by TaleWgnDg
president eeerrrrr Bush's cabinet eerrrrr U.N. Ambassador eeerrrr job as Massachusetts-Bush-for-president Chair! Mittens was unable to deliver his own alleged "hometown" of Belmont, Massachusetts despite that rather large and tall tower overlooking the entire town and Route 2 and surrounds!!

Damn. Makes you proud to be born, raised and reside in Massachusetts! Maybe we should pull out those old bumper stickers that say "Don't Blame Me, I'm from Massachusetts" and add on "-- Kerry country!"

Heh.

I find it rather strange, too, that the North Shore which is the bastion of Republicanism in Massachusetts didn't come forth for the Good Ole Boy but for Boxford (who the hell lives there?) and Lynnfield (another, who the hell lives there?). Neither of which are overly affluent towns, no way! In other words, Kerry carried all the top affluent towns, Weston, Lincoln, Dover, and the entire North Shore community of stogy old-timers. Just goes to show that Massachusetts which has the most educated population in America votes w/ its head. Yeah for knowledge!

edited to add: my apologies to those of you who live in those two towns of Boxford and Lynnfield on Massachusetts' north shore . . . yes, I am aware that U.K.'s royals have stayed in homes in that area when visiting Massachusetts, and yes I am aware that it's Brahmin horsey country . . . but next time GOTV!! Jump on the bandwagon. The water's fine.

9. Oh, Lynnfield is an affluent town.
I have a friend from college who lives there. He made his first million from real estate in the seventies, I believe. These days, he plays the market.

10. Lynnfield is not that affluent . . . it's ranked #70 . . .

That is not to say nor infer that there are no monied folks living there; however, overall the town itself is not as affluent as 69 other cities and towns . . .

edited: this scaled census indicia is of New England, not merely MA . . .

12. I didn't know that, I always thought it was affluent.
I guess growing up working class, I go into a town like Lynnfield and it looks extremely rich.

13. 16 years of total dominance
Repubs last carried a Massachusetts county in 1988 when Dukakis lost Barnstable. Plymouth and Worcester counties.
