Why are even Democrats in the media saying Brown is socially liberal and politically independent?
And what can we do about it?

So far, I've heard that Brown is pro-choice, pro gay rights AND independent from Joy Behar and two people I have somehow blocked, though I suspect gushing and spitting Chris Matthews was one; and I've heard from Keith Olberman that Brown is socially liberal.

Why do people seem to be taking his word for it, without even checking with Coakley or other Massachusetts Democrats first?
What can we do to expose his false front?

BTW, I'm sick of him and of the media gushing over him already.

1. After what he said about Cheryl Jacques, I don't know how he could be classified
as 'socially liberal'.

3. I don't know what he said about Jacques....
(link, source, cite), but I can guarantee you, it was probably far more kind and respectful than my opinion of her.

2. I don't think we'll be able to expose it until he starts voting
And then it will depend on which master he decides to serve.

5. I don't know if he's technically "Pro choice" or
"Pro gay rights" though.

Because I read a couple of his statements on these two issues

What he said was that Roe v Wade and Gay marriage (in Mass) were things that had already been decided and that he would not attempt to do away with either one.

IMO, that's not the same as saying "I am pro __________" (fill in the blank)

anyway, I'm with you...I'm totally sick of the media fawning over him and his family. They're treating him like a damned Superstar

All I can hope for is that, whenever he leaves office, he doesn't leave the state in a worse condition than before he got elected.

6. Mittens said similar things about Roe v Wade at first
And look how that turned out. I suspect he will try to look like a social liberal so he can get reelected in 2012 (pleez gawd no), then go full-tilt-bozo RW nut.

7. I'm pretty sure he anti women's rights and anti gay rights. I'm just saying what the media is saying
BTW, Justice Roberts said the same thing about Roe v. Wade, stare decisis, etc. He lied. I have a feeling Brown and/or Brown's advisors modeled Brown's babble on Roberts.

His campaign advisor was Romney's campaign advisor. There's a huge clue.

9. Im not a fan of brown but....
He voted for the Jobs Bill. For that, I give him props. Then again, he didn't vote for Health Care Bill and is neither for nor against the Financial Regulation Bill, plus he is against medical marijuana so i really don't know what to think of him.

10. I can give you a big clue. He's a Republican, and therefore, thinking
he's anything but a snake in the grass is useless.
