crown of wire hangers
i saw a bLurb on the news Last night, about vandaLism at a church (st. john's of no. cambridge). the crown was pLaced on the virgin mary's head, a femaLe symboL spraypainted on her, and on the ground in front of the statue was painted, "keep your vigins off our bodies"

most LikeLy the work of???? i agree with the sentiment (Love the crown of wire hangers) but not the vandaLism. the sLoppiness of the crime makes me suspect pro-Lifers at work.

BOSTON -- Police in Cambridge are investigating a case of vandalism at Saint John the Evangelist Church.

Spray painted words and signs were discovered near a plaque donated by the Knights of Columbus that reads "In loving memory of all unborn victims of abortion."

The vandals also left a "crown of thorns" made from wire hangers.

Cambridge police said so far they have no suspects.

1. A simple crown of wire hangers...
placed gently on the head of the virgin Mary would've been sufficient. That's why it sounds like the work of pissed off teenagers who don't want their reproductive rights decided by others. Teens tend to get a little carried away.

3. I haven't been in St. John's in years-ddn't know there was a plaque
there.

Sounds like pro-lifers to me. I think there is an active chapter in Ahlington.

4. my parents stiLL Live near there
when i'm guessing pro-Lifers did it... they puLLed a "poLarky" (forget the guy's name. the man who showed up at a kerry raLLy and had his son rip up his bush sign to show how eviL dems are).

it couLd have been kids, but the grafitti seemed so over the top - misspeLLed, and making no sense - my initiaL reaction is, "it's a setup to show how eviL, and apparentLy stupid pro-choicers are"

5. It's funny that they'd pull somehing like that in Cambridge
they should have done it in a suburb where people might actually be swayed by their idiocy.
