Hope it works out as well for him as it did for Keyes.

53. The comic genius of Jerome Corsi - posts to freeperville, courtesy of Salon
http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2004/08/11/corsi/

The comic genius of Jerome Corsi

Jerome Corsi's insightful description of Islam is today's quote of the day, but in truth it's really impossible to choose just one Corsi-ism to highlight. The co-author of the anti-Kerry book "Unfit for Command" is a regular poster -- and, to hear him tell it, a regular comedian -- over at freerepublic.com under the handle jrcl.

Corsi has apologized if anyone is offended by his posts, and he has told the AP that he considered them "jokes." For a full load of Corsi's brand of humor you can check out the Media Matters report here and the collected works of jrcl here. But for a more abbreviated introduction to the man who is helping drive political debate in this country today, we offer a few highlights from Corsi's freerepublic posts.

Hillary Clinton: Corsi routinely refers to the junior senator from New York as "HELLary" and the "FAT HOG," as in, "Anybody ask why HELLary couldn't keep BJ Bill satisfied? Not lesbo or anything, is she?"

Islam: In March 2003, when a car bomb in Lebanon killed an Egyptian named Abu Mohammad al-Masri, Corsi gloated: "One more Mohammed al-Mohammed el-Mohammed Mohammed iced -- great. Ice all these boy buggering, woman hating, infidel killing terrorists."

Iraq: Thinking up a pretext for war even the Bush administration didn't try, Corsi suggested in January 2002 that the United States capture Osama bin Laden and move him to Iraq so that "we have an excuse to bring them the Holey Month of BOMB-adon. Iraq with Saddam sounds as good a place to park him as anywhere. Let's Roll!"

Sept. 11: When the infamous Aug. 6, 2001 PDB was released in April -- the one headlined "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S." -- Corsi declared the story "DOA" and said that "the RATS" -- Corsi's shorthand for Democrats -- on the 9/11 commission should consider themselves "disgraced" for pursuing it.

The United Nations: Corsi calls the UN a "Communist, anti-American terror-ridden propaganda pulpit." But then, Corsi calls lots of things "communist." Hardball's Chris Matthews is "Communist Chris." Jimmy Carter is a "Total Communist." John Lennon is a "dead Communist guy." Katie Couric is "Little Katie Communist," and NBC is short for "Nothing But Communism."

John Kerry: He's a communist, too. When Corsi isn't calling the Democratic presidential nominee "Jean Francoise Kerrie" or "John Fonda Kerry," he refers to him as "John Commie Kerry." In April, Corsi predicted that Kerry's first act as president would be to "end" the war against terrorism. "Surrender America has been his constant theme. Raised in France, he has always thought as a hater of America. He is a disgrace."

In what appears to be his most recent post, Corsi finally appears to have gotten something right. On Saturday, he wrote: "The politically incorrect humor I posted on this site is evidently not funny to everyone."

If Mitt Romney is still at the head of the Mass GOP, we'll definitely see a better candidate than Corsi. He's already been on the record posting pretty inflammatory shite on FR, and that just won't fly in Mass.

If Kerry runs again I think he'll prob win no matter who runs against him. But Romney is way too smart to allow a troll with a grudge to represent his party.

22. Corsi proposes US pre-emptive strike on Iran
CHENEY SOUNDING THE WAR DRUMS: In December, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth leader Jerome Corsi spoke out in favor of a pre-emptive strike on Iran. Corsi said, "either the U.S. alone or the U.S. plus Israel or Israel alone will seriously contemplate a pre-emptive strike, and I'd be in favor of it." Now, Vice President Cheney seems to be on board. In an interview before the inauguration, Cheney said, "If, in fact, the Israelis became convinced the Iranians had a significant nuclear capability...the Israelis might well decide to act first." Cheney added that "We don't want a war in the Middle East, if we can avoid it." His boss may be on board as well: On Monday, Bush said he supported a diplomatic settlement of Iran's nuclear program but said, 'I will never take any option off the table.'"

Yeah, this guy will go over like the proverbial lead ballon here in the deep-blue state of MA.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04263/381100.stm

"Consider the book "Unfit for Command," put out by a collection of partisans who have now made it acceptable for veterans to attack each other's war records. The current National Review carries a piece decrying the bookstores that fail to carry "John O'Neill's book." This is curious in that the volume has a second author, but Jerome Corsi has dropped from the marketing because he has been revealed as the author of religiously bigoted remarks published on a Web site. Corsi not only considers Muslims to be pederasts, but he took the trouble to slam Catholic priests and refers to the pope as senile. Rather than wonder whether a book written by such a man can be trusted, the marketing tactic has shifted to pretend Corsi doesn't exist."

24. More Corsi Dirt
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/printer_5003.shtml

Portions of this article included below:

A co-author of the anti-Kerry screed, Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, is a religious bigot, hatemonger and gay basher who says Islam should be eliminated, calls Senator Hillary Clinton a “lesbo” and says “Ragheads are Boy-Bumpers as clearly as they are Women-Haters.”

“Islam is like a virus,” writes Jerome Corsi...

“It (Islam) affects the mind,” Corsi writes. “Maybe even better as an analogy, it is a cancer that destroys the body it infects. No doctor would hesitate to eliminate cancer cells from the body.”

Corsi posted these comments on the FreeRepublic.com web site on November 26, 2002. He is a regular contributor to the right-wing website, posting under the screen handle of “jrlc” since 2001.

A frequent gay basher, Corsi on November 18, 2001, posted: “Isn’t the Democratic Party the official SODOMIZER PROTECTION ASSOCIATION of AMERICA?”

He reserves the same hatred towards Catholics: “So this is what the last days of the Catholic Church are going to look like. Buggering boys undermines the moral base and the lawyers rip the gold off the Vatican alters. We may get one more Pope, when this senile old one dies, but that’s probably about it.” (Posted on December 16, 2002).

Uuuuummmmmmm, Kerry is up for re-election in 2008 . . . so let's stop and try to figure this out. . .

If Kerry runs for president in 2008, then will he also run for Senate in 2008? (Do our MA laws allow this? There's no federal prohibition to run for both offices, but is there a MA prohibition?)

What if Kerry does not run for re-election of his junior Senate seat in 2008? And runs for president?

Oh, that's right, too, Jerome Corsi still won't have a chance to win any senate seat in Massachusetts. What an *sshole! What? Does he *need* some cheap publicity for a new book he's writing? Surely, he must know that Massachusetts isn't his territory! Maybe he's just too damn stupid! It sure sounds that way.

Corsi may be able to dish out "Buddy Focker" lies --- but can he survive the real real scrutiny of what the founders and leaders of the self-anointed "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" participated in and covered up ----

Friendly fire deaths

Friendly fire death cover ups

I knew Jerry Phillips family. I later met Ross Bell.

Corsi is unfit for anything but whoring, he is funded by the lowest scum of the naval service -- "Buddy Fockers"

Read all about the "Swift Boat Veterans for the Cover up of Friendly Fire Deaths of Jerry Phillips and Dave Brostrom" (at least two of the leading lights of Corsi's and O'Neil"s group were involved in the killings of Brostrom and Phillips --- and the subsequent cover up) -

Corsi is a "Buddy Focker" like O'Neil and Hoffmann.

.

paineinthearse . . . the answer is "yes and no" . . . uuummmmm, no, I am not trying to be a pain in the ass (cough). . .

You see, here's the "official" Massachusetts Secretary of State's website that lists all of the counties Registry of Deeds (the official place where real estate deeds etc should be recorded) across Massachusetts.

Yes, each real estate recordation is according to county in Massachusetts. That is, if the site of the real estate is, say, in Medford, Massachusetts, then it should be recorded (if its recorded) in the Middlesex County Registry of Deeds, Southern District.

However, each website contains disclaimers. These websites may contain errors. They are not universal. Some have holes according to dates. And others have lookup/search requirements that make it next to impossible to research without knowing the exact information on the face of each deed etc. Yup, tis a fact. The disclaimers on all these websites state not to rely upon the websites; instead it's suggested that legal research at each facility, physically, is required in order to accurately determine what is on file at each Registry of Deeds.

When searching on these county Registry of Deeds, hit both the "grantors and grantees" indices.

BTW, don't *blame* each Registry of Deeds for non-uniformity - one with another; instead, blame the state legislature for not allocating the funding for appropriate uniformity and for not legislating appropriate laws to back up such online uniformity.

edited to add: paineinthearse, check out Kathy in Cambridge's post/response #37:

"37. Yes, many cities and towns keep an online assessors database . . . when the tabloids mention he buys a house out in Freeperville, MA you can look up how much he paid, etc." (end, Kathy in Cambridge's post #37)

as a double-check or a starting point once you get the city or town in which this idiot moves into. Again, not all City/Town Assessors Offices are online. And not all the information at each online Registry of Deeds is accurate or available. To push the point further, there's disclaimers at any online Assessors Offices, too, similar to the Registry of Dds online disclaimers.

"The Point" peddled discredited anti-Kerry author Corsi's new book

Watch the video clip

Quicktime - http://mediamatters.org/static/video/thepoint-200502090006.mov

Windows Media - http://mediamatters.org/static/video/thepoint-200502090006.wmv

Sinclair Broadcast Group vice president Mark Hyman devoted the February 8 edition of "The Point" to promoting a forthcoming book by Jerome R. Corsi, the discredited co-author of the anti-John Kerry book Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry (Regnery, 2004). Hyman touted Corsi, whom he identified as a "New York Times number one best selling author," and his new book, Atomic Iran: How The Terrorist Regime Bought The Bomb And American Politicians (WND Books, March 2005), but Hyman did not mention Corsi's history of racist, homophobic, xenophobic, anti-Catholic and anti-Muslim comments, which Media Matters for America first exposed and which has been widely reported (by The Washington Post, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the Associated Press, among others).

As Media Matters has noted, Corsi apologized for the postings, which appeared on the right-wing online forum FreeRepublic.com, in interviews on August 10, 2004, with the Associated Press and radio host Sean Hannity, classifying his comments (which included calling Pope John Paul II "senile"; asking if Senator "HELLary" Clinton is "a lesbo or anything"; and calling Muslims "RAGHEADS" and "Boy-Bumpers") as "silly," saying he "thought they were jokes," and complaining that they were taken "completely out of context." According to the Boston Herald, Corsi later said that criticizing him for his online comments is "'like saying Shakespeare is responsible for something one of his characters said.'"

On "The Point," Hyman claimed that Atomic Iran is "painstakingly researched and documented" and that "Corsi asserts that regime supporters were active in the 2004 Presidential campaign, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars." Corsi has previously suggested that Kerry's position on Iran was motivated by bribery, a claim that Media Matters has debunked. The web version of "The Point" also contained a link to Amazon.com's listing of Corsi's book, where it is available for pre-order.

Corsi is a columnist for conservative news website WorldNetDaily.com, and Atomic Iran is published by WND Books, WorldNetDaily.com's publishing division. Corsi's columns have had such titles as "John Kerry and the politics of betrayal," "Iran -- John Kerry's next Vietnam?" and "John Kerry's Irangate?" On January 25, the Boston Herald reported that Corsi planned to move to Massachusetts "so he can challenge Kerry for his Senate seat in 2008." "The Point," presented by Hyman, is a two-minute conservative commentary that airs nightly without a counterpoint on the 62 television stations Sinclair Broadcast Group owns or operates. Media Matters leads SinclairAction.com, a coalition of groups and individuals protesting Sinclair's continued misuse of public airwaves to broadcast one-sided, politically charged programming without a counterpoint.

1. 'Unfit for Command' Author Considers Challenging Kerry in Senate Race

John Kerry's nightmarish challenge by his Swift Boat veterans and their allies may not be over. NewsMax recently chatted with Jerry Corsi, the co-author with Swiftee John O'Neill of "Unfit for Command" – the runaway New York Times best seller that torpedoed Kerry's presidential campaign. Attending a conference in the suburbs of Washington recently, Corsi let it be known that he is actively considering a run against Sen. Kerry when his term is up.

Corsi is not a Massachusetts native, but says he has already scouted for property to declare his residence there. He appeared excited about the challenge. Federal law allows him to declare his candidacy at any time and open up a full fusillade against the Senate's most liberal member. Corsi thinks his criticisms of Kerry will be well received in the state that elected Republican Mitt Romney. Even Bush fared better in Massachusetts in 2004 against its home state candidate than he did against Gore in 2000.

Corsi also notes that his Italian-Irish ancestry will give him an edge in a state given to ethnic voting. Kerry is neither Irish nor Italian, Corsi notes. As word has circulated about a possible candidacy, Corsi says he has been flooded with e-mails of support.
Corsi said he has read news reports that Kerry is considering a lawsuit against him, O'Neill and the Swift Boat Vets.

Presumably the suit would be for defamation. The New York Post's Page Six quoted a top aide to Kerry saying the senator would need to file such a suit if he has any prayer of making a presidential bid in 2008. Incredibly, Kerry is said to be considering such a run. Corsi said he and O'Neill have discussed the possibility of the lawsuit, and both said they might offer to pay Kerry for the FedEx charges to serve them with any court papers.

"Quote me: Bring it on!" Corsi said with a chuckle.

49. But he's up in '08.
Against Corsi, Kerry'd probably get about what he got when he ran unopposed the last time, about 80%.

50. You're right, typo on my part.
It's the original Mayor Quimby who is up for re-election in 06.

and disheartening and I have very mixed emotions about it. On the one hand, it's smart of Kennedy to try and scare away competition by building up a huge warchest of money. On the other hand, sigh, we need electoral competition, not more unopposed races.

My husband is on school-committee in my small NE MA town. He ran unopposed. The town is now facing a possible override and this strikes so many people as coming from left-field. ("Why didn't we know about this.") Unopposed races mean many issues just are never going to be talked about and that is a very bad thing for democracy. (Local or national.)

So, I'm glad that Teddy K is in a good position for re-election. I am very sad that this means that, once again, a democratic airing out of the issues probably won't happen.
