Please Read, Take Action and Forward
Dear Ian,
Our hard work is paying off. We expect that tomorrow a pro-equality majority in the legislature will defeat the constitutional amendment that would take away equal marriage rights from same-sex couples.
But its not over. Our opponents are actually trying to claim that the defeat of the anti-gay amendment is their victory. They want to use the Constitutional Convention as an opportunity to rally around a more mean-spirited amendment -- one that would take away marriage and leave same-sex couples with no protections for their families whatsoever. The Massachusetts Family Institute plans to flood the State House; they are urging their members to come early. We must not let our opponents succeed in seizing the momentum.
Please join us in Brockton today and at the State House tomorrow to demonstrate that Massachusetts strongly supports marriage equality and that we are proud to defeat this discriminatory amendment with a pro-equality majority. Bring your friends and family members.
Join us tonight for a beautiful and moving ceremony on the eve of the Constitutional Convention.
