Led by Monica Conyers, Detroit City Council votes for impeachment

The Detroit City Council, led by Monica Conyers, wife of Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), today unanimously passed a resolution calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney by the US House of Representatives.

Detroit joins a growing list of cities, and the state of Vermont, which have passed resolutions urging the impeachment of the president and vice president.

1. So, GWB won't be mayor anytime soon ...

This seems like a fine feel-good sort of thing, but pointless. I don't think the Detroit City Council has the power to impeach the president.

I guess I just don't appreciate my tax dollars being wasted like this. The good councilmen should quit screwing around and work on Detroit issues.

into a bunch of condo's? It may be symbolic, but if more city councils banded together and voiced oppinion maybe we could stop killing a quarter of a million people and spending a trillion dollars. I'm sure you worked hard for your precious tax dollar, I just hope you never find yourself getting slaughtered and no one really says or does anything about it.
