Why is gas so expensive in Michigan!?
I read that the nat'l avg price is $3.22.
The best price in Lansing today is $3.65. Why on earth is our price .43 higher than national avg??

2. Drove a lot today. Recalled a little.
Prices in my west side Detroit home area were 3.43 on Telegraph. Three miles west on 96, 3.49, two more miles, 3.59 were it stayed all the way to Ann Arbor. Ypsi went down to 3.45 in the city but back up heading east on Michigan Avenue. No explanation.

Why is Michigan higher. I do recall we had a pipeline spill many years ago. Prices went up, and as though a light bulb suddenly lit the way over some peoples heads they figured out how to raise prices after that.

That was before the episode when prices rose around the country and Jim Jeffords switched parties giving Democrats control of the Senate investigations. That day, that very day, prices of gas dropped. But, all is forgotten, and dots, certain dots never get connected.

4. Wow - interesting site.
Michigan is the highest-avg gas state in the country. Lansing is the 3rd highest-price gas city in the US behind Chicago and Grand Rapids.

5. It is coming down!
The price is falling as we exit Memorial Day. I'm seeing $3.35 at exit 196 on I-94
