Federal prosecutor from Florida caught in child sex sting

An undercover child sex sting using the Internet has snared a U.S. Justice Department official from Florida who allegedly traveled to Detroit over the weekend to have sex with a minor.

John David R. Atchison, 53, an assistant U.S. Attorney from the northern district of Florida, is expected to be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Detroit this afternoon.

We've got a good, democratic sheriff in Macomb County. His daddy might be a rapist, but Mark Hackel has really proven himself since taking office.

1. He started charging ice fishermen on Lake St. Clair for their helicopter rescues, if they have been rescued previously. I like this, because there are so many inland lakes that are safer to ice fish on. And, really, no one should be eating the fish that come out of Lake St. Clair, anyways. I won't swim there (ick), so I'm not eating fish out of it.

2. He really handled the media well on the Tara Grant case. He probably knew from early on that the husband did it, but let kept the media in the dark until he got his evidence. He was even smart enough not to release the husband's "crazy eyes" photos until after the arrest.

And, now, this. You would think that a federal prosecutor would be smarter than this.
