Judge strike down Michigan's primary law
from MichLib:

Michigan's Jan. 15 presidential primary was effectively canceled Wednesday by an Ingham County Circuit Court judge who agreed that providing lists of voter participation only to the Republican and Democratic parties would be unconstitutional.
Judge William Collette said the compilation of lists for the parties was clearly a case of public resources being used for private purposes. And because the presidential primary law approved by the Legislature last summer contained a non-severability clause, meaning that if any part of it was struck down the entire statute was void, the primary cannot take place unless the Legislature passes a new law, Collette said.

3. Who knows
The exec committee of the state party was supposed to meet tonight. I haven't seen anything about it yet.

You missed a good talk by Nancy tonight in WB.

2. The idea was well intentioned, but was approached in the wrong way.
Sure, I have long felt that we should be more relevant in the primary process; especially because we suffer the most with bad presidents such as the critter now squatting in Al's house. I just wonder if our state party leaders could have started this process when no one was looking: like right after the last presidential election.

Lately I wonder about our state party leadership. I guess I won’t get a bouquet from MDP anytime soon.

5. Interesting. Which judge?
I know some of them (grew up in Mason).

Well, this is our way out of it, but that means we'd better figure out how to make Michigan relevant and fast.
