Excellent showing by Democrats in Macomb County election
Macomb county is showing increasing signs of abandoning their "Reagan Democrat" reputation, and returning to the Democratic Party which more clearly represents their political interests.
In this past election, Democrats swept the five biggest county wide positions: Sheriff, Prosecutor, Clerk, Treasurer, and Public Works Commissioner. Democrats also won 16 of 22 Macomb County Commissioner seats.

Republican representation in Macomb Co. now appears limited to Sterling Heights and the sparsely populated townships in northern Macomb County.

I wonder if new prosecutor Eric Smith has the authority to charge Congresswoman Candice S. Miller with bribery/extortion charges for her part in the scandal that earned herself and Tom DeLay admonishment from their Republican colleagues?
