There should be an "Anybody but Dillon" option.

The three candidates I have been most interested since Cherry dropped out are: Hansen Clarke, Virg Bernero, and Alma Wheeler Smith. Although, Wheeler Smith has continued to speak negatively about Gov. Granholm which has made it very unlikely that I would support her.

As of now, I'm guessing Bernero wins the nomination. I'm not sure who would be my preference though.

3. The real question should be "Why are there no Populist Progressive candidates in Michigan"?

I am interested in finding out more about Bernero...I like what I've seen,
but I really have only seen a few clips on TV.

Our state is the WORST state in the union for
jobs and near the top in foreclosures.

Where are our voices?

4. Bernero is an interesting candidate

He seems to have the most excitement/momentum around him. I just don't know much about him (neither does most of the state). I don't know much about any of the candidates. I guess that's what primary campaigns are for.

I was supporting Cherry and was disappointed that he dropped out. But him dropping out sure has made the race much more interesting. Nobody really knows who will win....or even who will be running. I hope a strong, progressive candidate emerges so we don't get stuck with the GOP for 4 years.

Trying to find out more info about both of them. I'll end up volunteering for whoever ends up getting the nomination, but begrudgingly if it's Andy Dillon.

Especially if the pukes choose Hoekstra.

Since this post, you can add Denise Ilitch and maybe Dan Kildee to the list. Dan spoke at the OCDP meeting last night and he seemed pretty good, but he hasn't made up his mind yet. From what I understand, he's quite progressive. He's pretty charismatic, too.

Sounds like Denise just might jump in soon.

and Ilitch had a meeting with the White House, then it's probably almost guaranteed that she'll run. She's clearly very interested if she went all the way to Washington to discuss it.

I'm not sure it's a good thing for her to run. I don't like candidates who run based on their business experience. Running a business and running a state are two different things. I'm also concerned about her donation to the George W. Bush 2004 presidential campaign.
