So it looks like Joe Schwarz will replace Nick Smith, barring a miracle by Renier. But hey, that district is almost guaranteed to be won by a Republican, so why not a moderate?

JonBenet Ramsey's dad lost his state House race.

Kent County will not be getting a new wildlife park; the millage was rejected.

What else happened in the Great Lakes State?

2. Former State Senator Alma Wheeler Smith won the 54th district primary

So EMU will finally have an advocate in Lansing instead of a muckraker with a personal agenda like Ruthann Jamnick.

I don't think there is any Republican opposition in the district for the general election. Not positive, though.
