The CQPolitics Interview: Michael Bouchard (MI Senate)
Forgive me, I'm not from Michigan and am not even from the United States. But I follow US politics closely and am following this year's senate races very closely. And I found this interview with the Republican senate candidate likely to challenge Stabenow

He sounds like a sanctimonious, self-righteous creep who will turn into a * clone once he gets elected into the Senate. I'm sure his whining about Stabenow's filibuster participation will ensure that he wouldn't participate in a Republican senate filibuster of Dem nominees when Democrats regain control of the White House.

Democrats need a net gain of six seats to reverse the Republicans’ current Senate majority. Most of the analysis about this year’s campaign for control has focused on the minority party’s challenges for seats currently held by Republicans, in states such as Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Ohio, Missouri, Montana and Tennessee.

GOP strategists remind, however, that they have some takeover bids of their own — one of those in Michigan, where Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow is seeking re-election six years after ousting one-term Republican Sen. Spencer Abraham by a margin of less than 2 percentage points.

Although politically competitive Michigan has gone Democratic in each presidential election since 1992, Republicans contend Stabenow is vulnerable, citing her tepid job approval ratings. They also say Stabenow could be burdened by any anti-incumbent mood stemming from overall dissatisfaction with Michigan’s economy, which is highly dependent on the stumbling domestic auto industry and has stagnated despite upturns in the rest of the country.

1. name ID
I'd be interested in seeing numbers on his name recognition. During his years as Oakland County sheriff, he's given out tons of bumper stickers to elementary school kids that say "Sherrif Michael Bouchard" named my child deputy of the week, or something.

Doesn't matter too much though, Stabenow is safe.
