Update on Patty's Trip to DC
Just got this e-mail from Patty Wetterling campaign. Note it is authored by new campaign manager, Carol Butler (who managed Stabenow's senate campaign, among other things).

------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Friend,

Patty continued her fight for safer Minnesota communities this week by traveling to Washington, DC, where she joined several Members of Congress, John Walsh of America's Most Wanted, Nancy Grace of Court TV, and fellow Minnesota Mom Linda Walker (mother of Dru Sjodin) in campaigning for passage of the Child Safety Act of 2005.

Patty has been an integral part in the passage of a variety of federal legislation over the last 15 years, and this bill is just the latest to help strengthen the tools at our disposal to track convicted sex offenders and keep them from harming anyone else.

As you can see, Patty was featured on a number of national television news programs, as well as in the Minnesota media.

Thank you,

Carol Butler

1. Good job.
Putting reform efforts into tracking addresses our problem with the existing population of released offenders.

But constantly facing high recidivism rates seems a lot to ask of society.

Why not jail the next generation of offenders much, much longer, or even permanently?

2. I hope her campaign gets traction
I think she has the best chance of winning.
