Jim Algeo,GOP losing to DFLer Steve Peterson.
Karen Nordstrom is defeating Loren Klassen.
one other race, Republican Axtell is unopposed.

Karen Nordstrom had numerous endorsements spanning the parties! She was instrumental in getting the Bloomington Smoking Ban passed!

Steve Peterson is the incumbent (has sat on the council for years) He is a decent public servant and I am glad he is winning.

People as far to the left as I am generally don't do so well in Bloomington especially, if one is unmarried, childless and - worst of all - a renter (never mind how long you've lived in Bloomington.)

Besides, I'll confess that Bloomington city politics tend to bore me a bit.

One note - technically Nordstrom is a Republican but she is one of the sane ones (a very rare breed these days).

And another note, Steve Peterson is a good guy, but he has never wanted the DFL endorsement as he feels it would hurt him in Bloomingtong. Just like my state rep - who does seek the endorsement won't put "DFL endorsed" on her signs or even her literature (I think the literature).
