Randy Kelly lost, 70 percent to 30 percent
From
http://www.startribune.com/stories/587/5715831.html

St. Paul voters punished Mayor Randy Kelly on Tuesday for standing with President Bush a year ago, denying the Democrat a second term in Minnesota's capital city.

...Former City Council member Chris Coleman, also a Democrat, routed Kelly 70 percent to 30 percent in unofficial returns with all but a few precincts reporting. Ahead of the election, independent polls showed voters were primed to fire Kelly, and most cited his 2004 endorsement of the Republican president as the reason.

No sitting St. Paul mayor had lost a campaign since 1974. Kelly had a personal election streak that spanned just as long, covering his quarter-century in the Legislature and first term as mayor.

..."The people have spoken,'' Kelly said in a concession speech at his campaign headquarters. "I say amen, and so be it.''

5. I'm not sure on that but I know that he said he decided to
endorse Dubya after he saw an "I Hate Bush" bumper sticker. Apparently RQK was so saddened by seeing the sticker that he decided Dubya needed his support. :wtf

I always wanted to get some "I Hate Randy Kelly" bumper stickers printed up in his honor. However, that's no longer necessary as St. Paul voters sent him the message loud and clear. ;)

6. One of the stupidest aguments ever made for voting for a presidential
candidate:

I was offended by a random bumper sticker, and so I decided to vote for the other presidential candidate.

16. Spike, I presume the 'Q' stands for Quisling
Gee, with RQK gone, who do we focus our irrational partisan hatred upon?

17. Yes, you are right on that. I stole it from a very clever DUer
that posts with the handle of "northernsoul." :7

"Irrational partisan hatred." LOL!

Have no fear. With RQK no longer a distraction, we can now fully concentrate on channeling all of our hatred towards Normie. Oh, wait. I've been doing that a lot anyway. I guess I'll have to dig a bit deeper in my next emails to him. Oh man, that will be tough, considering the less-than-polite emails I have been sending his way lately. Somehow I get the feeling that Normie is really going to dread looking at his inbox the next few weeks. Even more so than usual. ;)

Sorry Randy. If the last Republican governor (Carlson) is endorsing the Democratic presidential candidate, why on earth would you go out of your way to endorse the Republican?

Not a smart move, politically. I'm suprised he made it as far as he did.

13. College Republican help for Kelly...did not help
this says a lotabout the Kelly campaign and him being a "DFLer":

http://www.mndaily.com/articles/2005/11/08/66020

College Republicans president and marketing senior Jason Baskin said they’ve worked a little with St. Paul mayoral candidate Randy Kelly after a campaign representative contacted them, but otherwise they haven’t been called upon to help with elections.

“Most of our focus has been laying the groundwork for the 2006 campaign,” he said.

15. He could go Republcan...but.......
Would he even get a warm welcome (including Kool-Aid ceremony) into the GOP as the entire party down-shifts into Bush-avoidance mode?

14. Good riddance to this DINO
St Paulites refused to be fooled again after Little Normie and Kelly. They want a DEMOCRATIC mayor. Cripes, the St Paul vote was something like 65% for Kerry last year - what did this dope expect?

19. Did anyone see...
the story in the Strib yesterday about Chris Coleman dining with R.T. Rybak in St. Paul at DeGideo's? It's a fun nostalgic Italian old-guy kind of restaurant that is reminicient of a 40's mob-style joint. Great food, too.

Anway, R.T. presented Chris with a framed picture of both city skylines, side-by-side. They pledged to work together to bind the progressive visions of both cities. It was so heartening to see -can anyone see that happening with Mr. Kelly?

GOOD-BYE, Rethug Randy!! We hardly knew 'ye.
